Many people are disscussing about which type of High Definition TV suits best for them. There are advantages and weakness which affects the set in any occasion. For example Plasma TV's advantage are rich contrast ratio, realistic vivid colors. Their weakness are plasma tv;s are very fragile, burn-in screen.

ONe reason, and one reason only...when a plasma TV goes out, you hav e repair bill that could match the national budget. I spent months researching the por and cons of Plasma, LCD, DLP, and back lighted. My decision was LCD for durability, cost and performance.

I am waiting for OLED to come out!
Meantime I like LCD for most aplications, DLP rear projection for a better price point and a proper projector for those who can house it properly.

For my family room LCD, but if I could have DLP in the room I would prefer that.

I am shopping now for a 42' LCD 1080P TV.
