There are about seven SH Cons that have such a large ego that they actually think that getting raves and having their posts on the leader board means they are really smart and well liked.
I suspect they are old retired people with lots of time and no real friends.
These people can not stand anyone to contradict their articles and so they block anyone that points out the flaws in their thinking.
As a result all the nut jobs gravitate to their posts where they are protected and can sit around bashing Obama without actually discussing and debating their opinions,
It does not help that SH is owned by a couple of these Conservatives that do the same thing!

I can't even count how many times I've gone to answer a question and found that I'm blocked by the poster...even if the poster and I have never spoken before. Many of these people mysteriously occupy top rankings on the site, which seems strange to me. Who would value and respect the opinions of someone who seemingly doesn't value or respect the opinions of others? Who are these people, and what is the most reasonable explanation for their mindset?
I think immaturity runs rampant on this site, but I have no time for such games in life.

don't want to face comments from more enlightened sources. Many also have multiple accounts here on SH, so they "rave" their own posts and, of course, block anyone who challenges their madness. They troll for persons of like mind or others equally delusional
as themselves, making a uniform opinion and list of comments as if they really had said something of importance or believable. I'm blocked by more than thirty RWNJs, probably

Seriously though, Some people block for good reasons other people block because they want an echo chamber. Who wants to talk to them anyway. . . .?
There have actually been scientific studies done which have demonstrated very clearly that pleasurable sensations are produced in one when a person hears or sees what he already believes reinforced, and that painful sensations are produced in one when that individual hears or sees his beliefs attacked or contradicted.
