It's really a 'misdirection ploy' as they no longer refer to themselves by their party (Dumbocrats) but use 'liberal' and 'progressive' in an attempt to garner credit for anything and everything positive regardless of whose achievement it actually was and make an effort to claim anyone to the right of Joe McCarthy as one of their number.

Wasteful spending is found in the military and in the war on drugs. Those are the areas that need to be cut and cut drastically. A retired military officer wrote a book where he claimed the military budget could be reduced 40% and it would result in a stronger military.
