It seems that in every election there is one issue that causes people to stay home or vote a particular way. In 2008 the campaign for "Hope and Change" seemed to catapult Obama into the presidency as a leader for the people against the status quo.

Until recently, the 2012 campaign looked like it was going to be about the economy. However, there have been a number of issues surfacing that may relegate the economy to the backseat.

Many people insist that Obama and Romney are two sides of the same coin (Obamney). However, if you look carefully, there are vast differences on many key issues voters face this November. So, my question to you is:

What issue is most important to you in the 2012 election?

Note: My answer selection can be a positive or a negative factor in your candidate selection. I also grouped similar or related issues.

Not really, you didn't offer an "All of the Above" option.

My main issue with the upcoming election is to vote this monumental POS OUT OF OFFICE!

OK, Republicans, WHERE ARE all the jobs you promised?

Republicans? Pssst, don't look now but the Democrats hold the Executive and the Senate. A Republican Congress and a Democrat Senate = a useless, ineffective leg on the tripod that supports our government. We're being governed by Executive Order and collusion.

ALL OF THE ABOVE if it serves the purpose of restoring America to what it was. We can still turn the tide and allow this failing empire to turn around and grow. Oust Obama, and his policies, and cronies, and finally allow healing. America and her citizens deserve this at least. America was meant to serve the people, not Government interests.

My thoughts are much like TommyG here. The sad truth is our current President has failed to be the uniting leader he portrayed himself to be while campaigning in 08. And creating class warfare as an excuse for a dismal economy could be the worst thing he's done!

His 1st big mistake was the Healthcare Act! He wanted to ramrod it while he had a majority in both houses. He should have worried a lot more on getting the economy growing before making that move. The Stimulus was porked up with things like Nancy Pelosi adding $175 million for Family Planning in a year they got an increase anyway! That money would have been much better spent training out of work people how to program and set-up jobs on modern cnc manufacturing equipment. An area where there is a shortage as we speak!

He should have demanded countries in Nato contribute to a Nato Action which is what Afghanistan is based on GDP. C'mon now you mean Germany, France & Italy could not put 10k boots on the ground? They have barely had 12k in total between the 3!

He also has NO ganas in making China realize they can't tie their currency to ours forever!

Now he'll do anything to get re-elected! That includes Profiling a specific group and using Executive Power to buy their votes! So now we will have more college grads and no jobs for more kids!

The Healthcare Act will be an incredible burden with unemployment over 8% and a GDP barely 2.5%. There is no doubt we can do healtcare better but not when we spend over 15% of our GDP on it and nations we compete with cover all their citizens an...

This Class Warfare and pointing to the 1% as the culprits is his idea of economic growth! It's NOT uniting it's divisive so he's failed!

While all these issues are important, I'd rather spend my time keeping people from ripping out other people's throats just because they're different than talk about money with everybody ripping each other apart, and then try to get them to coexist alongside one another after the recession is over.

So what if you're [insert religion]? So what if you're straight or gay or bi or so on? So what if you're black and he/she's white? Why the heck does it matter in the first place? We're all humans with human rights. Let's start treating each other as such.

Do you realize that when Obama gave amnesty to 800,000 illegals that is taking away 800,000 jobs from Americans?

I want more smart funding. I don't like it being up to the states to such a great extent. Generally Obama seems to have better ideas than the Republicans on Education
