What is your opinion about the Congressmen and Congresswomen who walked out on the Contempt vote yesterday? Is this acceptable behavior?

Sorry this is the same thing the Dems pulled in Wisconsin. These people work for US! How dare they not have the guts to actually vote. The question I have to ask is why were they afraid to vote NO? That is the more telling question here.

Really? You really believe your statement? As for jobs, it is the Dem controlled Senate that is preventing any bills from being brought to the floor for a vote. Check out the facts.

Just because it is nothing new, does not make it right. These people all work for US. A simple no vote would have been an appropriate move. Why were they afraid to put their no vote on record? Must be they feel keeping their individual jobs are more important than doing the job they were elected to do.

The very same people who voted for contempt on a relatively minor issue and howled all the day long about how terrible and immoral it was are those that walked out today on a contempt vote for something far more serious.

*Hundreds of murdered Mexicans, two murdered Americans, Lying to Congress, refusing to comply with lawful subpoenas, actively engaged in a coverup.

Its just all partisan politics. You cant trust a single thing a democrat does or says because every word out of their mouths is a lie. Its come to that.

It's juvenile. They are elected officials sent to Washington to do a job. Although sometimes they forget who they work for, they don't get to just take their ball and go home when things don't go their way.

This was mostly the "Congressional Black Caucus", surely all obama/holder supporters SOLELY because they are (partially on one count) black. Had this been any white President and Attorney General they would have been howling for impeachment and prison (probably skipping the fair trial part).

If their constituents have any brains they will be unemployed by January but I'm not going to hold my breath on it. If their constituents are overwhelmingly black and voted for "them" simply BECAUSE they were black, nothing will change in those districts.

Anyone for raising the voting age to 21 AND putting the "property requirement" back onto the books? Any property will do, a house, a quarter acre lot, a small business would qualify to vote. Parasites would not qualify to vote and therefore would not be voting for politicians who offer them "free stuff" at the taxpayer's expense.

    Just a thought.

To be fair.. the Republicans did this during the same type of vote so from MY point of view it would be hypocritical to criticize it now.. JUST as it IS hypocritical for these Democrats,, MOST of whom came out and HOWLED when the Republicans did it,, to do it now..

What pains me MOST is this dismissal by these Deomcrats and their LACKIES in the MSM over this issue.. There WILL come a time when all this WILL come out and if THIS administration hasn't illegally DESTROYED all these documents and it becomes KNOWN beyond ANY doubt that THIS administration was indeed connected with and responsible FOR Fast and Furious and THEN took these steps to cover up MURDERS,, THOSE Democrats who walked out will NOW be able to say that they are not be on the Official Record as having voted to SUPPRESS the evidence of this by Supporting Holder and Obama..

An investigation on Issa's Fast and Furious investigation by Fortune showed what a witch hunt it really is, its an election year partisan smear investigation masquerading as a quest for justice for Terry Brown's family. They interviewed five ATF agents involved in Fast and Furious and they said that Issa's claim that the ATF intentionally supplied the cartels guns was a lie, that it didn't happen.

Quite simply, there's a fundamental misconception at the heart of the Fast and Furious scandal. Nobody disputes that suspected straw purchasers under surveillance by the ATF repeatedly bought guns that eventually fell into criminal hands. Issa and others charge that the ATF intentionally allowed guns to walk as an operational tactic. But five law-enforcement agents directly involved in Fast and Furious tell Fortune that the ATF had no such tactic. They insist they never purposefully allowed guns to be illegally trafficked. Just the opposite: They say they seized weapons whenever they could but were hamstrung by prosecutors and weak laws, which stymied them at every turn.

Indeed, a six-month Fortune investigation reveals that the public case alleging that Voth and his colleagues walked guns is replete with distortions, errors, partial truths, and even some outright lies. Fortune review...

Fortune reviewed more than 2,000 pages of confidential ATF documents and interviewed 39 people, including seven law-enforcement agents with direct knowledge of the case. Several, including Voth, are speaking out for the first time.

May be what you said has some truth to it, but the issue is check and balance. Our elected representative has the representational right to over see wrong that was done by a powerful government! NOT a "politically driven charade" as you've proclaimed!!!

Why issued an executive privilege for documents that will be available soon via the freedom of information act??? LETS see the documents!

Buying some time til after the election???
  • Q konalimu 2012/06/30 19:37:28
    Q
Sure checks and balances are important in any govt. But its also quite possible that Darrell Issa is abusing his investigative powers in order to push this investigation forward strictly for political gain right before the election. From what I've read the Justice dept. did screw up and put out a statement that was factually incorrect and that was wrong but they did finally correct it.

But I can understand why the president exerted excutive privilage denying him the right to see their emails with their deliberations since its become obvious that Issas only interested in inflicting political damage since the ATF agents were quoted as saying that Issa's asserations were simply not true. Saying that Holder and even the president had blood on their hands was over the top since the ATF never allowed guns to go to the cartel intentionally as he claimed.

Issa even called this adminstration the most corrupt in America's history without citing a single peice of evidence to support such an outrageous statement. Can you blame the president's reluctance to believe that Issa will conduct his investigation impartially after all his lies, partial truths, distortions and unsupported allegations as Fortune's investigation uncovered?
  • konalimu Q 2012/06/30 19:59:57
    konalimu
    Why invoke executive privilege???

You are unable to give a reasonable person's perspective, and you fall back on partisanship.

Lets see the document! You are tap dancing around the ????????????? that plagued this adm. Wouldn't work, but nice try.

The result of an inexperienced president, lack of leadership, dishonest, amoral is what we have in WH and SENATE, but more to come from your beloved "god obama" :)
