The Obama magic has faded... That’s no surprise — as that magic was a largely substanceless froth whipped up by campaign consultants and compliant big-media cheerleaders. ...The truth is, Obama wasn’t ready to be president when he ran in 2008... — he himself admitted upon entering the Senate that he wasn’t qualified to be president...

Oh, well... I wish Democrats more of such victories in 2010 and 2012.
Btw, Cristie promised to get rid of Democrat's corruption in New Jersey and to put everybody in jail where they all belong.
Yeah right, Republican governors don't matter.

As for why, they lost (in Virginia at least, I haven't looked into New Jersey as much) because of concerns about fiscal policy among the middle. The middle went for Obama in the last elction in New Jersey and Virginia, and they didn't this time. In Virginia, at least, the governor to be ran on fiscal conservatism. If the Republicans are wise, they will look at what he did and go with that next year.

Why did the Republicans lose New York's 23rd district Congressional seat to a Democrat, a seat that they have held for a majority of the time since the civil war?
