What is the most ridiculous question you have ever been asked on a job interview ?

The Smartass Group
Like....why do you want to work here ? how in hell do you answer something like that ? seems like the less the job pays the more intrusive the questions become .

I don't have to answer those silly questions since I work for myself. But I keep asking myself why are you a glutton for punishment ?

I've been asked if I was the sole provider??? What difference does it make when you both need to work.

If I let you work more hours, would you accept a lower hourly rate?
    DUH!
I replied, "When you go to the doctor and the waiting room is full of patients, do you ask to pay less money for your visit?"

Funny enough the one question I stuggle with the most is that sneaky end question some interviewers ask after they tell you thanks for coming in..."Do you have any questions for me?" It's sneaky because after I hear the words "thanks for coming in" I relax a bit and it totally takes me off guard. It seems to me there is no right way to answer that one; if you say "no" you sound like you lack curiousity...if you say something about pay you appear as through you only care about the money...if you ask how soon they will let you know it seems as if you have no other opitions. I usually try to say something interesting and sound like I am rambling...lol.

I hate that question too That has been pulled on me also. I have heard and read that you never ask about money no matter what. It is all personal with the interviewer. They know if there gonna hire you within the first few minutes of meeting you. It's that special "Click" that you feel with your interviewer. Then I have read that after a interview to send a nice note to the interviewer thanking them.with in 24 hrs. I hated that idea like most people do. stand out above everyone else with an interviewer do something that no one else would do within reason lol and you got the job. We all have lots of time to think about it with this economy.

a lot of times the person doing the interview is some poor schlong they pulled in to do the interview and has no more idea of what to ask than the man in the moon..i think that's why there are so many stupid questions asked at these things...then you have to ask do you want to work for some place that is too cheap to hire someone for H.R.

That one goes along with my favorite of all time....which I might add, should always illicit a lie. Because saying, "I hope I win the lottery, or I hope I won't be working in this dump for the next 10 years." are more true than..."Working at Shithole has been my goal and hopefully I might be in a position like yours 10 years from now, Giggle."

Your kidding??? Maybe they mean these operations that they are performing on wrong body parts. lol I shouldn't be laughing that is bad. I know when my husband was operated on the doctor basically drew a map so they would operate on the wrong thing.

Yes, and Understandable...and it probably will get worse if this healthcare reform goes through. We won't have enough doctors they will do there best to get out of the practice.

Are you really a doctor ??? My doctor would not agree with that. And he is not for nationalized healthcare and neither am I. The care is very poor. Long waits for operations. People are dying from long wait time on operations. If you are for this nationalized healthcare maybe that is why they asked you if you killed anyone.

I was asked if I had sexual fantasies while at work.
I asked why and he told me that they dont want employees surfing porn sites.
I replied "Thats for me to know and you to fantasize about."

I HATE it when they ask 'what are your worst qualities?'.
Like I'm going to say, "well, I can be a real ASSHOLE sometimes. I will always check out the women's T&A; and fantasize them bent over my desk. I will curse you under my breath especially if I feel that I deserve your job more than you do, etc, etc"

Um, I don't have any truly memorable weird questions, but my mom was once asked "Do you like the people you work with now?" She wasn't sure how to answer it, but she was thinking "What the hell does that have to do with anything?"

the more mind boggling shit they come up with , the less it has to do with the bottom line and the more it has to do with is screwing with you . they should put up signs like scapegoats wanted . the ones that are "help" cant even speak English .
