What is the most effective way to pay off our national debt?

I say "Cut spending and raise taxes", since that's what Bill Clinton did, and it seemed to work at paying down our national debt, although I'm sure the Conservatives on here are going to try and accredit that to Reaganomics taking 15 years to "kick in and start working".

















Why can the feds do it....get a grip congress.... plus freeze foreign aid... don't borrow money to send abroad.... get our house in order yesterday...citizens...buy USA made products.... time to get serious with debt problem...one more...flat tax ...everybody pays....no loopholes...one page form....bark
P.S. More, congress term limits...and remove them from big retirment after term(s) is over..
put congress on SS like other Americans...no congress healthcare program... return to private life and get a job... no lobbying ever....no perks for congress...don't run for congress and expect big freebies down the road...get to work...both parties..get a grip on what voters expect from you....
and cutting spending is definitely the solution.
