I say "Cut spending and raise taxes", since that's what Bill Clinton did, and it seemed to work at paying down our national debt, although I'm sure the Conservatives on here are going to try and accredit that to Reaganomics taking 15 years to "kick in and start working".

But at the same time, get rid of the tons of regulations that job providers must pay for. We'd have jobs come back to America if government would stop running them off with their insipid do-nothing niggling regulations and their incessant mandates. Government knows exactly NOTHING about how to run a business, nothing about how to stay within a budget, nothing useful to the public. We will never recover if we continue allowing government and its incessant laws and regs to destroy our entire economy as they've been working so hard to do.

Stop outsourcing jobs to foreign countries, cut taxes making employing people less expensive, stop imports and be a financial patriot by buying only goods produced in your own country, reduce the size of government and stop depending on foreign oil, when you can produce it it yourself.

Say to the ones who owe you that you let them off the hook and hope the ones who you own do the same

Balance budget is a good start.... how many faamilies in America can run up debt...?

Why can the feds do it....get a grip congress.... plus freeze foreign aid... don't borrow money to send abroad.... get our house in order yesterday...citizens...buy USA made products.... time to get serious with debt problem...one more...flat tax ...everybody pays....no loopholes...one page form....bark

P.S. More, congress term limits...and remove them from big retirment after term(s) is over..
put congress on SS like other Americans...no congress healthcare program... return to private life and get a job... no lobbying ever....no perks for congress...don't run for congress and expect big freebies down the road...get to work...both parties..get a grip on what voters expect from you....

Expect less from government. Get rid of the old guard and business as usual. First prove that we have enough commitment to austerity to at east stop the growth of debt.

well technically, rather then raising taxes, just stopping tax cuts for the rich will do.
and cutting spending is definitely the solution.
