Subsequently, the price of consumer goods have shot up. My constitutional rights seem to be a little on the lighter side.

I can't be patriotic when I know our country is being "led" by someone who wants to destroy us. Things will NOT get better for anyone with him in charge.
He thinks it protects him from evil. And that brings up the question:
Do we really want a President who wears magic underwear?
Do we want the country to go in that direction?
I have lost whatever respect I have had for Republicans. Watching them froth at the mouth of President Obama has been sad.
Even during my most fervent anti-Bush days I still winced when I saw some from the fringe of groups whom I shared certain philosophic leanings (i.e. people on the left) compare President Bush to Hitler. I thought it was wrong then, and I first heard the rule "invoke Hitler = loose argument" invoked BY people on the left to limit those comparisons. That, however, was at least in regards to war. Seeing MAINSTREAM Republicans (such as Governors and U.S. Representatives) compare President Obama to Hitler over HEALTHCARE of all things (often over programs suggested or instituted BY Republicans) is just beyond all possible reason.
At this time I don't know if I could vote for a Republican for dog catcher unless he or she distanced himself from what counts as the right-wing today.
I have found someone in my life who agrees with my outlook when it comes to politics and it really helps to call her when I am feeling really annoyed by other's opinions...we get to talk and agree and it feels better..we all need an outlet...we can pick an outlet that supports us rather than makes us crazy!
If you had faith in yourselves, you wouldn't rely on the Dept. of Education to make decisions for you, you'd rely on the faith and wisdom of the parent and adopt a voucher system that creates competition, lowers costs and increases the quality of education.
If you had faith in American industry, you wouldn't support the bipartisan stimulus bill that was predicated almost entirely on preserving swollen government spending at the expense of private-sector growth.
Is faith in American know-how why Washington funnels billions of tax dollars each year to its hand-picked industry favorites (corporatism) rather than allow the best and brightest to competitively figure out what the most sensible energy policy is, as we have in every other sector?
This lack of faith in yourself has led to the 20-year explosion of paternalistic regulations that control everything from the size of candy to tannin...

This lack of faith in yourself has led to the 20-year explosion of paternalistic regulations that control everything from the size of candy to tanning salons to fast-food restaurants to the pressure in your shower head. A faith that the American citizen has the self-control of a deprived toddler. This is what YOU have handed over to the federal government, faith in yourself is now faith in your government!
