THIS QUESTION IS BASICALLY A NO BRAINER! MOST POLITICIANS ARE EGOTISTICAL, ARROGANT, SELF OBSORBED IDIOTS WHO BELIEVE THEY HAVE THE CORNER ON THE POLITICAL MARKET!

THE ONLY REASON THEY ENTER THE POLITICAL ARENA IS TO RECEIVE PRAISE AND GLORY ALONG WITH A LARGE PAYCHECK! IT IS VERY RARE TO FIND ONE THAT ACTUALLY DOES A GOOD JOB FOR THE PEOPLE WHO VOTED THEM IN OFFICE!

ONCE ELECTED A POLITICIAN'S EGO TAKES OVER AND COMMON SENSE AND THE DESIRE TO DO A GOOD JOB FOR THE CITIZENS AND VOTERS WHO HELPED GET THEM ELECTED GOES INTO THE TOILET!

THEREFORE AMERICA HAS MORE EGOTISTICAL POLITICANS IN WASHINGTON THAT BELIEVE THEY ARE GODS, THAN THERE IS IN ALL OF AMERICA AND THE WORLD!

NEARLY ALL POLITICIANS ARE IN THE GAME FOR THE MONEY AND THE PERSONAL PRESTIGE THEY RECEIVE FROM THEIR VOTERS!

OBAMA IS A GOOD EXAMPLE! HE SPENDS TAXPAYER MONEY RECKLESSLY, AS THOUGH IT WAS HIS OWN MONEY BEING TAKEN FROM HIS OWN PERSONAL PIGGY BANK!

Power
takes over and destroys them. That is why most politicans don't keep their promises. I can conclude many more things.

It all comes down to GREED and POWER. They just can't control themselves.

I do not have time to read the whole article but I can tell you what happens to them in one word, MONEY. As long as it cost millions of dollars for one congressional seat there will be corruption. As long as we allow the government to be bought by the highest bidders they will own the government and not the people. How many people actually give a few dollars to a candidate. They piss and moan about politicians but they don't get off their arses to lift a finger to help. Some think the Tea Party is a grass routes movement but that too is backed and financed by the high rollers and the average voter thinks they are the little people. Millions has been poured into organizing the Tea Party.
Look at the power of the military industrial complex. When people hit the streets in the millions to protest a war they did not support then the draft was stopped and private contractors were hired to do all sorts of jobs as much higher costs so that the military could carry on as usual without dissent. People only care when their own ox is getting gored but they take little time when it is other people who are getting the shaft. Looking for blame. In a democracy you blame the voter.

Where is Ross Perrot when you need him! Hopefully Mitt has enough $ not to be taken in by then greed machine in DC

maybe....but that's just not going to happen. Power corrupts, especially those who have never had it....that's a reason I support term limits, and getting the perks and pay under control for our elected officials.
