I think the better question is what kind of grade did parents and students give the teachers in MA. Maybe it was better or worse or the same when Romney was governor. But it really isn't about the teachers, it is about the students!
teachers and the unions give a failing grade to a republican?....say it ain't so!!! LOL
It doesn't matter how much good a Repub would do for education.....the results would always be the same.......I get a kick out of Clinton being the education president...when he was in Arkansas the schools were routinely graded 49th or 50th of the states in failing to educate their students.....and the Dems, Teacher Unions supported him....
The Massachusetts teachers give Governor Mitt Romney a big fat "F" on his sup...
He deserved that F, because he went along with his hate party, whose strategy is dumb down American children, so they can work for cheap wages and make the Republican masters, the kigillionaires even more wealthy!!!
Let me guess, You found no rich congress person from the democrat party? Harry Reid and the CBC, should tell you everything you need to know, they got theirs and you pay for it!
"Chanin posed the question of why NEA is an effective advocate. Chanin said, “It is not because of creative ideas, it is not because of the merit of our position, it is not because we care about children, it is not because we have a vision of a great public school for every child. NEA and its affiliates are effective advocates because we have power and we have power because there are more than 3.2 million people who are willing to pay us hundreds of millions of dollars in dues each year because they believe we are the unions that can most effectively represent them, the unions that can protect their rights and advance their interests as education employees.” (standing ovation)"

The Department of Education is the best place to cut the federal budget, so it only makes sense to cut the budget at state level as well. It doesn't take alot of money to teach children the basics, remember most old timers went to a one room school, built by and supported by the local community and they were close, because we walked there!
What grade did they give the the Democratic controlled legislature? What grade did parents and students give the teachers?
Does this mean we should blame Obama for our sucky schools?
Well, usually if the teachers give a Governor a bad grade this day and age, it's a vote of confidence. Just like Walker in Wisconsin, he's changing education in a positive direction and the teachers hate him, except for the ones with a brain not just a union card.
Mass teachers are some of the highest paid teachers in the US, and yet they aren't doing as well as NEw Orleans, now that the public school system is destroyed there. So poor new orleans students going to charter schools are doing better the those public school rich Mass students.
It just goes to show you that the left isn't for student education or choice, they are for teacher unions. That's why they are against school choice and the voucher system, even though the literacy rate has tripled in new Orleans.
I saw John Stossel's report on the schools in New Orleans. I guess sometimes a bad thing ends up being a good thing. It looks like they might have a chance to get a real education there now.
Yep. It also show that it's not really the teachers who are the problems, it's those high paid administrators and the US dept of ED. Charter schools don't have to teach the leftist party line crap that public schools do.
I saw one of my neighbor's kid's social studies books and is read in the book that if you are a minority and poor, that you won't make it in this country without the help of government.
It's the unions that keep failing teachers in the system. I work for the USPS as a city carrier and one of our supervisors went on a detail to inspect city routes in other cities. She had to call the supervisor on one carrier because he refused to step on the gas between stops. You know what will happen to him? Absolutely nothing! This is what you get when the unions protect the weakest link...you get a crappy chain!

Although, if Romney follows in Bush's and Obama's footsteps and moves for more federalization of schools, I consider that a serious problem.
