What does the drink "Kool-Aid" have to do with liberalism??

I identify as a "liberal" and I personally hate kool-aid and pretty much never drink it. So what's the deal about it?

+8There was a cult run by a man named Jim Jones before you were born. He had brainwashed his followers into believing that he was the messiah. When he knew that police forces were coming to shut him down, he had his followers drinks poisoned Kool-Aid; they all did and died, knowing that it was poison. This is the analogy being applied to Liberalism. I agree with the analogy myself. I believe that it belongs to the Republicans as well.
Anyway, I hope you will not take offense, but at age 15, you aren't really anything in the Political spectrum. I mean, you don't have a car, you don't have a job, you don't pay taxes, you don't have kids, you don't have a spouse, you don't own your own home or land, you cannot vote, etc... Not saying you cannot speak your mind, but in the Political spectrum, your will doesn't hold much weight until you are at least 18.
