What does the AARP have to say about the Medicare Debate?

bob 2012/08/17 13:17:15
Ryan's plan to transform Medicare into a voucher-like system would lead to higher costs for seniors, more profit to insurance companies and less oversight to overpayments to insurance companies.
The AARP said that Obama's approach would strengthen the program.
The Medicare cuts, passed in the Affordable Care Act, come in the form of reimbursement reductions to hospitals, Medicaid prescription drugs and supplemental private insurance plans under Medicare Advantage.
Romney gave himself an entirely self-inflicted wound of picking a VP candidate who is most famous for wanting to end Medicare
AARP endorsed this supposed Romney stated "slashing" of Medicare because it extend the solvency of Medicare and reduce the cost of prescription drugs now
Ryan’s plan under the Path To Prosperity would end Medicare as an insurance program that directly pays medical bills for the elderly. The Congressional Budget Office projects that Ryan’s plan would raise seniors’ out-of-pocket expenses by $6,500 per year.

Who cares what AARP has to say about anything. AARP has proved it does not care about it's members years ago, but for profits only.
So why would any intelligent person even care about what a money grubbing organization thinks about anything. AARP gives in to government pressure every damn time, they are no longer the powerful senior force they started out to be.
Now they use seniors for their potential income.

I believe he could have picked a much better running mate ,this more than anything Obama could say may have ruined his chances most people know nothing about his V.P. pick other than his dislike for MEDICARE which is the best thing seniors have if some would not defraud it. MEDICARE FRAUD is a big problem.

AARP had the largest group of voting seniors. They are the ones to suffer if medicare is cut and many they are the group targeted NOT to get health care. Old people have a big say in politics because they have the time to read the issues and they vote, unlike the youth.

ARRP, is going along with obama and most of the nut cases at ARRP are for socialisim and if they are for socialisim and the unaffordable anti-health non-care bill, which is going to give free medical to illegals and get a RFID chip planted in your skin (mark of the beast 666). obumsky sociialist leaning to marxisim took $716 billion from medicare and put it in the nazi unhealthy care! Wake Up America, that obummer non-health care is one world order stuff!

Not a fan of AARP - toooooo political in its agenda. From a personal standpoint I will look in other directions for support. I do not trust them at all (or their information).

I have many friends (on all sides of the economy aisle) do not either.

I need to check but am sure their memberships have dropped.

Who really cares what AARP thinks or says anymore. They pushed for Obamacare knowing that they would benefit. Many of us refused to renew or even join AARP because of this endorsement. Many odf us now could care what AARP thinks or says. There are alternates to AARP.
