Campaigning is first, vacationing second, golfing third and after everything else, governing is a distant eighth or ninth (or maybe ninth and tenth). He is an amateur who somehow through reading the teleprompter rhetorics got elected POTUS.

This is why we canno't seem to get his voice out of our heads, becasue every time you hear he's in the news campaining somewhere in the US and we hear this more in the news than him making decisions in parlement.

Most definitely campaigning. Actually he never stopped campaigning, it's been around the clock kissing peoples butts, to have the governing done for him, while he soaks in our taxpayers dollars. It is ridiculous what this man has done and what he continues to do to destruct and divide America.

But he actually spends more time blaming Bush for everything than either campaigning or governing. Is it call governing when it is just shoving his agenda down the throats of Americans?

he has been campaigning all of his life.

he would not last a minute in the real world where one has to rely upon their intelligence and talent to maintain their position

Well, it can be rather difficult to actually GOVERN when Reactionary Repubs block and filibuster EVERYTHING HE TRIES TO DO. A strategy THEY implemented. SO much for "Bipartisanship" and putting the needs of the NATION first. I guess those terms belong in the asheap of history along with "Compassionate Conservatism " which is a contradiction in terms.

The budgets you talk about were Killed in the Senate and never MADE it to Obama's desk to be vetoed for good reason. Get YOUR Facts straight Doug.

so its the democrats then that cant hold to a budget if the senate killed it... and last i see obama is bypassing congress more than trying to work with congress so the whole idea of bupartisanship is dead when the president doesnt attempt to work with them

In order to HAVE a compromise, you have to have BOTH sides give up something in negotiations in order to make it work. The Republican plan was to guve up NOTHING. NO tax increases on the wealthy, no defense budget cuts. THEIR solution was to ABOLISH the social safety net and raise taxes on the poor, the ONE demographic LEAST able to pay for it.. So why to Conservatives HATE Poor People?
  • ManBearPig Ishmael 2012/05/27 09:00:25
    ManBearPig
they did have a compromise for the budget... boehner and obama had agreed on a settlement but it was killed in the senate by reid... while i do agree the republicans have been sticking to the my way or the highway mentality... there hasnt been much given to sacrifice their beliefs in order to make a compromise... democrats have been throwing tax cuts in return for more spending programs (when i thought the whole key to last years debt debate was to tackle the spending of gov't)... and when the senate passes a bill that looks good for a group (but in reality would be different than what people thought) and the house sees that and votes on that decision that the senate forgot about, it makes them look like the bad guy

and now that the Tea Party is standing strong on spending cuts that the democrats will strongly oppose then there will be a stalemate until one side gives in and makes arrangements to settle on sacrifices... either the option of continuing what weve been doing for decades or a change in a direction that many people want to see forth

How much of your tax dollars go to support a bloated military procurement system rife with corription? How much goes to an increasingly intrusive and draconian Narional Security blanket surveillance sysyem that tracks EVERY communication you or I make? How much is spent on militarizing our police forces even as crime rates DROP? If the Tea Party is "Standing Strong" like you SAY they are, WHY aren't they discussing THAT as part of their "Deficit reduction" plan? Could it be that it's because all those programs I cited are Corporate Profit centers and, therefore, sacred cows? The ONLY limited government conservatives want is a privatized Military/Police/ Surveillance state with neither individual privacy nor a social safety net.
  • ManBearPig Ishmael 2012/05/28 03:30:39
    ManBearPig
i didnt say republicans are trying to reduce the debt from every aspect of the budget... i know they have a different method of maintaining control over the populous just like democrats have their methods of control... i can go on and on how keeping social programs as it is will only increase the gov't dependency from the populous and the belief from democrats that anyone wanting to cut social programs believes in taking the safety net away from the poor but no reason to because this issue is about budget... where when a deal was concluded between the house AND the president but the Senate kills it in a jiffy

bear in mind the Senate has not thrown a budget into the ring for quite some time now and no budget has been issued in the past 3 years overall

that is what this issue is about
  • Ishmael ManBearPig 2012/05/28 04:59:52

They CAN'T. All spending bills must originate in the House. Per the Constitution.
  • ManBearPig Ishmael 2012/05/30 03:07:51
    ManBearPig
but they sure know how to kill any budget that has come their path... and they can help form a budget its the House that has to officially DRAFT a budget on paper and send it to be voted on

All Obamacare was was yet another giveaway to Big Pharma and Big insurance, Like Medicare Part D, which UNLIKE OBAMACARE, was NEVER PAID FOR. WE SHOULD have passed a single-payer system like EVERY OTHER industrialized Western Democracy. WE didn't and we're paying for it now.

Campaigning, and thank God for it. When it comes to governing, he's a disaster. This will always be the situation as long as politicians, instead of executives are in the Oval Office. There's only one solution:
    original electoral college

Once again, the Founding Fathers had it right and we screwed it up.
