What do you think of this political analogy?

Theoretically: The United States is an airplane.
Lets say the airplane has to go straight to reach its destination and make all the passengers (citizens) happy.
Now, lets simply describe how an airplane is designed. There is a fuselage, and two wings. There is a wing to the left, and a wing to the right.
Now, if more weight (politicians) is added to one side, the balance tips. The plane turns from its destined course. The passengers aren't that happy about that are they?
For a plane to work in this condition, you either need a really good pilot (president), or a balanced plane. You wouldn't have a real plane with more weight on one side, would you?
Think about it.

Interesting use of the checks/balances ..
IF Things were working as our forefathers designed ..
(the ones who gave their lives, their personal everything to form this great nation .. )
Each branch has the power to check/balance the bad in the other .. to put the limits there to remain in balance ..
Unfortunately .. we are within a problem with the Checks out of place ..
Checks not being used .. no effective balance indeed ..
POOR Quality in multiple branches .. leaves the imbalance in its wake ..
And there's no way that anything other than disaster, harm .. can be the result ..

It's more like a tug of war. If the sides are evenly matched, no one goes anywhere.

I think we have a problem with all the travel agents(lobbyist) trying to fill the flight... I don't think it's worth boarding anymore because it's doomed to crash...

    its right, but it isn't.
some things like the checks, balances and destination are right.
the whole idea of conservatives vs progressives was to keep it somewhat in the centre but still moving forward.
but the problem is that the progressives are progressing faster then the conservatives are (conservatives do progress believe it or not) which is keeping america at an almost standstill compared to the rest of the world where the conservatives are not quite so 'conservative'.
you cant keep everything as it was in the 1700s and you cant go hurtling into the unknown but you also cant stick somewhere in the 1950s while the rest of the world is in the now, not if you want to survive in the modern world.
    if that makes sense...

Crazy analogy. The country needs to be able to turn to avoid storms. That requires knowledge and guidance, i.e. truth, not balance.

The analogy fails. We have a dogfight between those who wish to be free and those who wish to enslave them.

I've thought about it and I think it stinks. The U.S. is NOT a democracy..it's a REPUBLIC. We're NOT trying to balance right with wrong. We're NOT trying to be half marxist and half free market capitalist. Half complying with constitution, half not. Half respecting the Judicial system, half not. Half professing atheism, half God fearing. Half promoting collectivism, half encouraging individual choice and responsibility. Your way of thinking is bizarre and this mindset is what is killing this once free nation..IMHO Your plane would certainly and positively crash, roll and burn along with all the passengers.

I don't get it. I don't think you did either.

I'm saying that if the United States is too right or too left, there will be fighting and then that will take the US off the right course.

There's room in the plane for all. The plane simply will not fly if you ignore the laws of aerodynamics. The constitution, spelling out the rules of the road, is the law that determines whether there is to be a successful flight, NOT the attitudes, dispositions or persuasions of the passengers. Also, the passengers are not flying the plane , the pilot, co-pilot and crew are in charge of that.

Of course. What I mean by that though is a really good president can help steer us in the right path.
