the Supreme Court’s 5-4 decision to uphold the law changes exactly nothing. Millions of Americans will still be uninsured, health care costs will still be too high, and all Americans – including those who refuse to buy health insurance – will still be taxed. In short, if this isn’t motivation enough to elect leaders – leaders who will repeal and replace Obamacare with more practical and sensible reforms -- I don’t know what will.

I hear that o.k. The thing of it is is that it's pretty much given the government the go ahead to just do whatever they want to do and do an end run around the constitution.

I'm disappointed that the mandate was "redefined" as a tax. That being said, however, President Obama can now add to his resume that he has passed the largest individual tax increase ever on the poor and working class.

Better than nothing and anyone against it would change their tune if they lost their health care and had nothing to fall back on.In this country with money you can get away with murder and live longer with better health care.Money shouldn't put a value on your life.

Had Chief Justice Roberts sided completely with his four conservative colleagues,

Obamacare now would be off the political table for the November elections.

Would have preferred a repeal but Justice Roberts has actually exposed Obamacare as a new tax for those without health insurance while Obama had been denying it as such. Justice Roberts also basically joined his four conservatives colleagues by writing in his nuanced opinion that Congress cannot intrude themselves into the citizens' lives. The people who would be hurt the most by the new tax would be those without insurance, the young, the poor, the middle class, mostly Obama's constituents. Justice Roberts actually is putting Obamacare as a front and center issue in Obama's re-election campaign. Let the Americans decide to repeal it or not by voting Barry in or out of office.

It has been in the making for decades. Edward Kennedy had this as his dream for our country. The Republicans don't want the Dems, much less the First Black President, to get credit for this life saving legistation that WILL go down in history. People that are against it are puppets of the deep pocket lobbyist that have bought the Congress. Time to go back and read and investigate Bills and Laws instead of just believing what big money has invaded our individual thoughts and go with what they say without voters not even thinking for themselves. Maybe it is the result of technolgy where people forgot how this think and depend of outside sources.

The court essencially rewrote the law that congress passed with penalties specifically labeled "not a tax" and then ruled that their revised version was Constitutional as a tax.

Instead of playing it straight, John Roberts is playing games--either politically correct games or some kind of political manipulation: galvanize the people into making up their minds not to rely on the Court. But in the process he said that the Constitution provides virtually no protection of a person's property. Only the protections of life and liberty (that is, right to move about) remain.

Just as some of the Senators who opposed Obamacare were strong-armed to vote for it, I believe Justice Roberts was strongly "influenced" by others on this matter. I'm not only diasappointed, but disgusted.

I would have liked to have that mandate struck down, making it ok for Congress to mandate such wide sweeping laws that effect so many of us. But I do agree we don't want our supreme court to be a political arena. I truly wish it had been struck down, but glad it's not partisan as many say it is. Now we have a chance to throw the dems out in Nov if they supported ObamaCare. It's a huge tax on all of us.

I think that conservatives need to take a deep breath and realize what a gift Justice Roberts has given them. 73% of independent voters want to see Obamacare repealed. You connect the dots. Obama has been set-up for defeat by Justice Roberts. He is brilliant.

He pulled a real stunt on Americans. He had the media paying attention to it's constitutionality, keeping focus on that, and staying quiet about it being passed as a tax.
