What do you think of President Obama's ruling today about undocumented young people and services?

I agree for the reasons he gave.

Might be suffering from news overload but I cannot make out the point of what he is saying. :-\

One of the first Executive Orders was Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation. In doing so it became the law of the land later when Congress approved the end of slavery by ratifying the end of slavery in the 13th Amendment.

When Lincoln signed the Emancipation proclamation I think he did it without the blessing of Congress. What was different in Jan.1865?

The emancipation proclamation only applied to slaves in the confederate states. It did not free slaves who were owned by people in the non confederate states. He did in 1863 while the war was still going on.

He's president, Bush had hundreds of executive orders.

First off...it's illegal. He bypassed Congress...AGAIN.

Secondly I'm not a fan of justifying crime. If you are going to legalize this you might as well legalize other crimes.

Rewarding illegal behavior just breeds more of it.

Sorry but you are up against a tide that doesn't seem to get lower. I don't know the solution but unless we go to a police state here it is not going to change. In Ca.especially. I was born in New Jersey and there were always a lot of immigrants of all countries. Legal or Illegal I don't know. But when you call people tacos it is not cool.

OMGosh! Are you seriously calling people tacos? It's people like you that have the right to vote that scares me. Please educate youself and remember that you, are most likely, a product of immigration. These children had no choice to come here. They know no other home. Pres. Obama is not giving them the right to vote or citizenship. He is just giving them a chance at a life thet you have be afforded as well. Stop being a hater for a moment and realize what progress we can make by making a statement that we will stand up for children and young people regardless of race or circumstance. Ask youself, Do you really want to be a person that turns your back on children or young adults that had no choice or voice? I hope that you will reconsider your position.

Illegal... not "undocumented". If anyone thinks this was done for any reason other than to gain more Hispanic votes, they're fooling themselves.

I respect your opinion. Please respect mine. Votes are important and yes Washington does things at all level just for that reason. The point is that people pour into this country every day from every country and stay here and work. I could go downtown Santa Monica any day and find some undocumented English or Irish or German

I certainly respect your opinion, but it would be nice if I didn't have to underwrite the welfare, insurance and food stamps all of these blessed new arrivals bring with them. Maybe if only the people who want them here could foot the bills, it would be different.

I understand and I have been paying taxes for a long long time. You have to be realistic especially in the southwest states. Thanks for being nice.
