Did you know that this planet has the resources and space for 250 Billion people to live in luxury and free from hunger?

Much better that a few of us just keep it all to ourselves....

Unfortunately the system is designed to keep them in no matter what they do. - In the words of the writer S. Parker ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/... ) it is the government plantation and anyone who tries to change it is overwhelmed by those who rely on keeping the people on the 'plantation' and dependent.

keep in mind, no one is suggesting forcing sterization or forced abortions. they have a choice to take government assistance. And you can guarantee not to have more mouths to feed by long term birth control choices. After they are off government assistance, then they are free to stop the long term birth control. My daughter had the implant in her arm. I made sure she didn't end up as a teen mom. Its called being responsible.

Forced sterilization is too Adolph Hitler .It is evil or insane in its violation. However due to my mental illness Ive decided not to have children and if I ever get pregnant Im giving the baby up for adoption.

No people shouldnt be forced to take birth control. I have no right to interfere with someones sex life unless I see one person raping another.

I could be a parent , foster parent, or adoptive parent fulltime if I had a good man as a guraentee but Im not strong enough to be a single mom.Since Im not strong enough to be a single Mom I wont have children.I like to try to contribute to the world despite my mental illness.Having a good or even alive husband is no gurantee

How does it interfere with their sex life? Does taking birth control inhibit them from having sex?

Birth control can screw with your cycle, if your cycle is screwed up than that can mess with your sex life

Rave for the hitler thing, I was thinking that was kinda nazi-ist. Apoligies for the illnes, it is a strong decison to not want to pass something down to a child. It is unfortunate, because having my baby-girl is one of the best thing iv ever experienced

My mental illness can be a cross at times but I usually find ways to have fun these days.
Its not so much not wanting to pass my illness down (I think I will find ways to contribute
to society despite my illness) but realizing I dont have the strength mentally to be a single
parent.I could probably find a man to marry me but he might die or leave. I respect single mothers.Being a parent is a very hard and very important job. Many mentally ill people have made contributions to thought, society, and even math/science/progress.

    Not forced.
Just, no welfare if they refuse to take birth control. That way it's an option.

How is it against their rights? It's a choice. Take taxpayer money to live on, agree to have long term birth control. Or you can not take taxpayer money and do what you want. CHOICE.

You can't force people to take any meds against their will or to perform a procedure.

of course not, I am not saying that. they have a choice to accept welfare on the condition that they have long term birth control. If they don't like the terms, then don't take the welfare. No one is forceing them to take any meds against their will or to perform a procedure.

No , and for several reasons, one of which it is morally wrong. Whatever money it would actually save in the long run would be outdistanced by the governmet's attempts to round up the ' habitual recepients'. Lawyers for the indigent would get involved and make a mint. Catholic bishops would have a meltdown. Just like the Florida voter purge, some innocent people would be swept up.

We need more awareness facilities that help these women make wise choices about safe birth control and family planning as well as teaching them about STDs and..... Oh wait, we have that. It's called Planned Parenthood.
  • Diverbelo Rebel Yell 2012/06/11 21:48:15
    Diverbelo
But it's not working. Incentivize them to adopt long term birth control as a condition to receive welfare. If the Catholic's have a problem with that, they can support their own people. This would save the taxpayers billions. As taxes are lowered, this creates more capitol and in turn would create more jobs. Crime rates would be lowered, by having less children in poverity. It's a win win. And the beauty of it is that it is a choice to participate or not.

How about "forced birth control" for everyone who isn't in the top 1%? Makes about as much sense.
  • Diverbelo CuppaT ... 2012/06/11 21:49:49
    Diverbelo
People in the top 1% don't have welfare babys. They pay for others to have them. If you can afford it, have as many as you like. If you can't afford to feed yourself, then quite having more mouths for taxpayers to feed. You are basically engaging in class warfare.

I didn't say people IN the top 1%. Put on your glasses and reread by post.

sorry mis read, but it's basically the same answer. even if your not in the top 1%, most don't ask for welfare, therefore if they can afford to have 10 children and they can pay to feed and house them, great, no one is asking anything from them because they are not asking anything from the taxpayer. They are the taxpayers.
