What do you think is the real reason Romney won't release more tax returns, like his father and all other presidential candidates did?

Meako 2012/08/21 09:32:50
He doesn't want to disclose what really happened at Bain
He paid a much lower tax rate than those making way less than him
He doesn't want to disclose his offshore investments
He will get caught lying again

Democrats and Republicans are both calling for Romney to release his tax returns. Back when he was running for governor of Massachusetts, Romney lied to the public about his taxes - insisting that he paid state taxes while he was working for the olympics in utah. Now he wants the American people to take his word on his U.S. taxes.

Voters deserve full disclosure of how Mitt Romney’s wealth was accumulated and invested, his offshore investments and the nature of his financial relationship with Bain Capital since his retirement. This information goes to the core of Romney’s character and values.

It is obvious Romney has something serious to hide or he would clear this matter up immediatley. What do you think Romney is hiding?

    NONE OF THE ABOVE!

    IT is a non-issue!
I am SURE that Obie and his co-horts DIDN'T ask their tax accountants/tax
lawyers to make SURE they paid MORE than the IRS legally requires!

obomma got this 5 TRILLION IN 3 years, before 2008 , I do not have obomma as the POTUS, and after this Jan , I do not have him in office either..

so, obomma has ownership for his 4 years, I do not think it fair to weigh him down with the previous POTUS ,, nor do I think obomma should be blamed when the new POTUS is sworn into office this Jan 2013,, to blame obomma next year is not fair and the new POTUS will have ownership ... IMO

It's not irrelevant. All Presidential candidates have to disclose their tax information. NO exceptions.

And he has disclosed tax returns. No where does it say that a candidate has to disclose ten years worth of returns. This is nothing more than a diversion tactic by the Obama campaign to avoid addressing the real issues.

Why doesn't Obama talk about the economy, the deficit, the national debt, unemployment, the Fiskur fiasco or the Solyndra failure? Because nothing good can be said about what he has done.

Why doesn't he address Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood stating that he is “very proud” of the Economic Recovery Act of 2009 that put 65,000 people to work with $48 billion in federal funds from the Transportation Department. Anyone with a grasp of basic mathematics can see that he spent $738,461.00 per job. Now that's something to be proud of! Proud of wasting the taxpayers money that is.

Maybe Obama should release the figures on just how many jobs were created by all the money from his stimulus. If the money spent by LaHood is an example I can understand why he wants to avoid the issues.

    What?

    No, they don't.

If "all presidential candidates have to disclose their tax information," Romney would have done so already, genius. He would have had no choice.

For crying out loud, you're basically now accusing Romney of violating federal election law.

Good grief. How desperate will you people get?

Reality check, genius: Elected officials have to disclose their tax records. Presidential candidates do not. Romney is not an elected official at the moment. He's a private citizen.

Relevant? One company out of hundreds of successful companies has financial problems and you ignore the other 98% of the investments. Fast and Furious was a tragedy, not a crime, and besides, the plan was designed by Alberto Gonzalez in the first place. Fiskur isn't even significant enough to be a non-issue. There was an investment in a company that also does business overseas. So what?

President Obama hasn't divided the country. From day one he has tried to bring the country together. It is the Right Wingers like you who have worked from day one to obstruct and oppose anything the President says or does no matter what the consequences and no matter that you've supported exactly the same things in the past. It's truly pathetic that there is so much hatred and divisiveness in the Right Wing that they really would rather see the entire nation go up in flames than do ANYTHING to help the President make our lives better.

The real reason is that he wants to be on offense during this campaign; if he were to disclose his taxes, he would be on defense the rest of the campaign trying to explain away things that are of no consequence.

Huntsman, if the things were of "no consequence", it would be a done deal. But because he has lied before it makes the entire situation even more suspicious.
