What do you think about the Death penalty (capital punishment)?

brian.fergel 2012/06/27 21:20:14
No. A human life is not to be (intentionally) ended by another person or group of people.
Yes... Eye for an eye, dude!
Yes, and I want to see more televised executions to set a stronger example.
Yes... but let's keep it out of the media entirely.
Yes, and the victim's family members should be given the choice of execution.

I'm a merciful person. I believe execution is much kinder than making a person spend the rest of their life in confinement.

(When I say that, at this point someone usually chimes in with "but if they are executed and later found to be innocent, death is final!"

My response to that is, "It's still more merciful to execute someone than to have them spend 10 or 15 years in prison, even if they're innocent.)

I've yet to see a dead criminal repeat a crime.

and and and, I want to hear more speeches from the people that WANT executions as they attempt to convert me to thinking Abortion is wrong, but killing an adult is OK.

The only thing wrong with it is they wait far to long to execute these people, execution should take place no longer then 5 years after conviction,or sooner.

The death penalty is too permanent; we never know with 100% certainty whether or not a person is guilty. If we reduced the prison population by finding alternative solutions to non violent offenders then there would be room and resources to handle the violent offenders without the death penalty.
