As the old adage goes, "nothing is certain but death and taxes." And we hate to bring up bad news, but the latter part of that certainty is almost upon us. April 15, known for nothing more than "tax day," is almost upon us. It's the day we're all supposed to get our paperwork together, submit our documents, and only hope for a substantial amount of cash back in return.

But hey, there has to be a bright side to doing your taxes, right? Are you looking forward to a big refund? Or maybe you just like knowing that you're performing your patriotic duties as a U.S. citizen. Whatever the case, we'd love to know more about your opinion on tax time. I retired from a window and door manufacturer, that make quality products, I get a terrific discount, same as current employees. So I bought high inefficiency windows to replace my not so efficient windows. I will save even more by installing them myself. And more yet on my heating an cooling bill. The refund didn't pay the entire bill, but helped.

Using ours to pay off necessary bills and go to our daughters wedding in October in Florida. I really wish we could save some but that won't be the case with gas, groceries and just about everything costing more.

I don't know what the amount is but I have heard it many times. If you want to know the exact amount, Google it. I know they get something and they shouldn't get any. You imply that it isn't so. Show me that it isn't so. Give me a link to that information.

I'm not the one making an unfounded claim. I'm asking you to back up the claim you have made. It has been reported that last year GE paid no corporate income tax due to legal authorized deductions and exemptions. I have never heard of any rebates that the government has either paid to or owed to GE. I'm still wondering what the source of your info is!

Show me I am wrong, if you want to make a big issue of it. If you prove me wrong I will accept it. You can't do it. I will say it again, General Electric pays no taxes on income and still gets a rebate. But they do pay millions to tax lawyers each year, which is nice.

I don't know that you are wrong or in error! You made a claim about a tax rebate that I had never heard about, and I asked you to advise us of your source. You have consistently refused to answer the question. I have never made a claim that GE did not receive a rebate; you made the claim that they did. Where did you get the information you used to make that claim? Or is it just something you made up to make a point?
