What Do You Do When There Is A Bear In Your Area?

We have a lot of bears in Colorado and they have been coming into
the populated areas looking for food. There were a few cars that were
destroyed on the inside by a bear and then the bear started going
into garages searching through the trash for food. One family left
a stereo on all night and the bear stopped coming around. The
music ....Country Music. Guess that would scare the bears.
One family started leaving food out for the bear and of course he
became a real problem. So the Forest Rangers had to sedate
him but then they put him down. Now they are looking for another
bear in the same area.
What should you do if a bear is in your area?

They should not be fed, and garbage containers must be secured.
There is no sense in killing bears. Why don't the rangers bring them back to the wild?
Are all these documentations informing about bringing bears successfully back to nature a lie?
Making noise to keep bears away might also be useful.
Those bears in your yard aren't Yogi. Leaving food out is just stupid because eventually the bear will turn on you and try to eat you too.
Random Note:
This question reminded me of a dream I had about bears. I was living in town and there was a bear going around killing people. It came to my house. The bear clawed its way through the door. It then tried to kill my family and I. Very heart-racing to have a bear trying to kill you in a dream. The bear was cute except for the fact that it had blood stained all over it fur. Lol.
a bear starts to come near you, make lots of noise and it will leave. Never
chase or run from a bear, they most likely are just as scared of you as you
are of them. They only leave their natural habitat when hungry and can't
find food so never leave food or garbage outside where they can get it.
trying to make a pet of a wild bear or any other wild animal is very
dangerous.
How have you been by the way?...I just started to frequent this place maybe three weeks ago...but I'm only on a few hours at night mostly and this is the first I've seen of you.
I don't know, we only get birds and squirrels here. Lots of birds. The geese are a bit annoying sometimes (can't they fly over the freaking road? Does Canada have no crosswalks?) bunnies and even deer. No bears.
my brother and cousin climbed trees that were about 6 inches in diameter one year. the tress were to small for a bear to climb, and yet big enough that a bear can knock down.
