What are the chances of Obama getting a second term as President?

Obama and the Democrats already have put in motion for Medicare to be raided to support their baby, Obamacare! I do think the Social Security crowd is part of the entitlement crowd and they need to wake up to the theft of their money prior to their retirement! They were lied to by both parties regarding this lock box fraud. Government should never have been given this responsibility and both programs should be phased OUT. I think Ryan's plan is responsible, but he could never get elected if he did what I think he should do, because too many of us have our heads in the sand about both Social Security and Medicare. They both are entitltements that are going to bankrupt our nation and make our country insolvent!

So, are you saying that anyone who shows up at a hospital in need of medical care, if they don't have either insurance or cash to pay for it, they should be turned away and left to die?

That NEVER happens in America! At least not yet! Obamacare hasn't kicked in yet! Can you give me examples of this happening? It is against the law! Medical personell must respond to medical emergencies based on human decency. Are you suggesting that having medical insurance somehow extends lives? I contend that medical insurance and especially Medicare drives prices skyward!

I'm not suggesting that at all, you just did with your opinion that entitlements should be ended. Just who do you think would have to pay for these medical emergencies? Are you suggesting that medical personnel should work without pay?

Ending medical insurance would cause the medical field to adjust prices to markets ability to pay. The way the current situation is, nobody worries about price because insurance will pay for it. Without an insurance system and a pay as you go system with health savings accounts, people would shop price as well as quality of care. That would bring prices down!

Now that, I agree with. It was the doctors being greedy and insurance companies looking to get a hook into the medical field years ago, that made a big pitch to doctors promising them more money if they allowed the insurance companies in.
Insurance companies like blue cross, health net and others are largely responsible for the poor quality of care and the high prices now.
However the damage is already done, if you just ended medical insurance now, the entire health care system would crash and so many people would die.

So what price do you put on saving lives. Should we bankrupt our nation and jeopardize the lives of ALL Americans to let the fraud continue?! I realize the cat is out of the bag, but if we don't get a handle on this problem, it will bankrupt the nation, especially the more government gets involved!

Medicare and Social Security were set up for precisely that, to save lives and give people something when they retire. SS was never intended to be a retirement plan, but it seems more and more people didn't save enough during their working years, or depended on a pension that had been promised them, only to find out that the funds had either been lost in the stock market or stolen by crooked fund managers.
Are you suggesting the government just let these people die? Do you really want the United States of America to be like India, where business owners have to sweep away the dead daily before they can open their doors?
You seem to want no entitlement programs, yet you want medical emergencies treated. You can't have it both ways.

I am suggesting we wean ourselves off of ALL government entitlements because they are fraught with fraud and always will be. The government has no motivation to watch this fraud, but private entities do! We would be much better off if we had private insurance alone and then charitable (private) organizations care for the needy, such as churches and local civic groups!

We have private insurance now, and you see how out of control the prices have gotten. Same with the banks. Without regulation, the rich will do whatever it takes to make even more money. Safety cost money, so corporations will try their best to skirt around it.

Prices have gotten out of control, in part because insurance in general in the medical field is a bad idea. Government involvement has pushed it higher even moreso than insurance itself. However, the true test will come when government takes over the entire system, which they Regressives) fully intend to do and then you'll find that the biggest cost to consumers of healthcare will be the unavailability of it!

Andrew I have a 60 yr old friend a real hyprocondract she goes to the hospital 3 times a week she has been refered to a head doctor and she has always been seen in the ER and she has not spent a dime !!!!!! What a waste she is really menally sick what ever you get she has and runs to her doctors 3 or 4 times a month . Free to her but a burden on tax payers! She demands every test available andshe has not been denied once !!!!! She goes to 4 different hospitals !!!!!!!

Today Paul Ryan was booed while campaigning. The Romney-Ryan train will crash and burn before it even makes it to the Convention.
