It seems that all that the middle class has reaped from our global economy is the misery of spiraling inflation, lost jobs, poisonous food, cheap and shoddy goods, invasive species and exotic diseases.

Lots of Deep woods off in the car and the boat. We have to deal with West Nile almost all year round here.

They did some spraying in my area. Pays to stay inside until this is over. West Nile can kill.

My brother who lives in north Dallas, has been sick for 3 weeks, even at one time, going in to the hospital where he was given IVs. Last evening his doctor called him with results of lab tests taken last Friday. It showed him positive for two different strains of the West Nile virus. BTW, that hospital that admitted him, gave him IVs, did run labs BUT failed to test him for West Nile. So if anyone reading this, admits themselves into the ER for feeling deathly ill, tell the doctor and nurse that you want to be tested for West Nile.

Meanwhile, 4 months ago, a retired Ft. Worth cop, who is also a friend of ours came down with West Nile. His turned in to Guillian-Barre. He has come close to dying several times. Took the hospital two weeks to get medication for GB in. He remains in the hospital trying to learn how to walk again. His situation is 1 step forward and 3 steps back.

Talked with a MN cousin last pm. There have been cases of West Nile up there too.

Scary stuff! It's in Canada, too (no known cases in my province yet)... I make a citronella spray, that I wear... mosquitoes don't like it at all.

I am taking care and keeping the insecticides up . You do the same . We cannot be too careful.

West Nile .. affects more than just humans ..

(especially anyone with Equines/Horses .. PLEASE be careful and keep the insecticides up)

My cousin has a horse ranch west of here so I need to talk with them about that very thing. They just moved here from OR.

(it is why in/around the barn .. we put in Automatic Feed Insecticide dispensers (away from feed sources) .. to try to keep the equines healthy

Oh! Maybe they are doing that too. I hope they are anyway.
