Now the media is not sure who he is endorsing in 3 1/2 hours. Trump is keeping his cards hidden apparently. My money is on Romney as they all think he can win.

Not really, because Romney is the one who has agreed openly that "corporations are people".

Who cares what Donald the hypocrite thinks? And hard to believe Mitt Romney even accepts endorsements from a hypocrite.

Trump told Daily Beast columnist Meghan McCain that Romney is “going to lose” because he can’t connect with voters. “No, he’s going to lose. He doesn’t resonate, you know? Or he would have won last time, in all fairness to your father! He was scheduled to win last time, and he didn’t because your father outdid him. You understand. I watched [Romney] make a speech, and it was all these little trivial statements.”

    – Trump told CNN that Romney killed jobs at Bain Capital. “Mitt Romney is basically a small business guy.” “He walked away with some money from a very good company that he didn’t create. He worked there, he didn’t create. He would buy companies, he’d close companies, he’d get rid of jobs.”

    – Trump slammed Romney’s record as governor on ABC. “If you look at his record as governor, it wasn’t totally stellar. His job production was not great at all. In fact, it was the third worst in the nation. There are some pretty negative things with respect to Mitt Romney, which frankly he’s going to have to overcome.”

    – Trump chided Romney’s $10,000 bet. “I don’t talk about how rich I am. Other people do. I don’t want to talk about how rich I am.”

And when the two met at the Trump Tower in September, Romney snuck out to avoid a photo-op and both were conspicuously tepid in their praise for each other afterward. “It was a nice meeting,” Trump told the New York Daily News.

    Not in the least!!
Trump has a head on his shoulders, and knows who is really capable of getting America back on its feet! If people would research anything at all about the man, Donald, they would quickly discover that he is a very strongly family-oriented man - so is Romney.
As for America's recovery: None of the other candidates has a chance in hell of doing it!! Rofl!!
The Crusaders have banded together however, behind Newt because inwardly they are prejudiced against Romney and his religion => they have effectively gone paranoid! :(

Trump will support anyone he thinks will benefit him personally. Things are looking pretty good for Romney right now so naturally Trump wants to be as close as possible. If Gingrich was in Romney's position then he'd have Trump's endorsement.

Nonsense = you need to personally research Trump for who he really is and what he believes.
Trunp is a leader LOL ... not a 'leaner' ... not a follower - he makes his own decisions.
His great success and intuition tell him that if any man among these candidates can recover America, it is Romney ... also, Both of them [DT & MR] are very family-oriented people.
I should think it is the very innate things about Trump that would have him supporting Romney :)

You could be right. However I do not think that, with his past history of political contributions to major candidates for both parties, my statement is nonsensical.

One thing you find very early in life about public figures and newspapers and media generally, most of the tripe put out is twisted and oriented to take down the 'tall-poppy' in the game ... even football teams do it ... so I take very little notice of public reportsLol!

Again I take note of your points Doc, but you have to also admit that most of the "nonsense" reported is right from the public figure's mouth.....You can't twist and turn the actual statements coming out of them.

That is true, Sissy on many occasions ... but do you know what??
I personally often use words in a way that will actually say the opposite or something quite differently from what i actually meant or believe to be the case.
I am sure other people do it ... and when you consider that when one is on public display or scrutiny, one's mind maybe momentarily divided & may actually convey a picture that is not actually part of their regular character, belief or behaviour.
It is what is really inside ... and what is Behind the scenes that actually makes the reality, not occasional public displays or mistakes in wording, etc
  • Sissy Doc Fra... 2012/02/03 13:51:06

Again, I find merit in your words here Doc. But then other thougts come to mind as we ponder some of the statements coming out of any candidate. For instance Romney's gaffe that is giving the establishment the proverbial bird, ("I don't care about poor people, they have a safety net). For those of us who pay attention to this stuff, we know that he supports the Paul Ryan plan that cuts nearly a trillion dollars out of the safety net for our poorer Americans. Why doesn't he know that the safety net has been severely cut and that 60,000 of our nations children go to bed hungry each night.

Romney will never be able to identity with the 99%. I guess you can't really blame him as its beyond his ability to do so. He just shouldn't be running for President where there are so many out of his realm of understanding.

I',m not sure that you are really correct [but then, I am Australian... ]
We have more safety nets here...
But even if you were, Honey, you have to realize that he is the ONLY candidate you have there that Might be capable of pulling the uS out of its terrible Doldrums, and that really stands for more than any of our other surmizes :)

Mr. Romney makes $57,000 a day without having to do any work. He says that "he doesn't make very much when he gives a speech...."only about $350,000 ~ ten times more than a average American makes in one year). He didn't make his wealth building, inventing, managing, operating anything. He and his fellow investors were solely in the business of making money for themselves and did whatever it took to do that regardless if it meant laying off hundreds of employees, shutting down plants after taking the best parts of them and letting the rest fail, having a rather questionable honest takeover of a medical facility, ALL to make money for just the few.

That will definitely not play well in the General. Regardless if you admire his business expertise or not, that is simply not how this country became great or remained so for many decades.

Then the question is begged, "why is there so much derision anything Trump"? Granted he has pulled himself up from the bowels of failure, bankruptcy, and I have to say that the number of wives doesn't exactly make him anymore of a poster boy for family warmth than Newt (if you want to go there), but I rather beg to differ that Trump has anymore respect for his business prowess with the 99% than Romney currently has.

The GOP has become a prisoner of its nut wing. When I was younger, I can remember moderate to liberal Republican senators such as Clifford Case, Charles Percy, and Jacob Javits. They wouldn't be welcome in their party today.
  • Sissy Rich 2012/02/03 14:08:11

I know Rich, and though I grew up in a lunch pail democrat family, I remember that GOP of long past too. My dad served under Eisenhower in WWII and while he voted for Stevenson, he had enormous respect for him. We obviously both remember how it "USED" to be. When after an election, sleeves were rolled up and our representatives went to work for all the people not just the few. Together they built a great country and it was done with compromise, respect and civility. All horribly missing today from all sides I'm afraid.

Thanks for your thoughts. You made me recall a better time.

Oh really? Well you need to go do a tad bit of research on all of your points. Dead wrong most if not all of them. Especially the schtick of the Right and of the Newt, that President Obama is a food stamp president which is a total and complete falsehood, (besides being a shadow racist comment). There were more people on food stamps with GW because there were more people unemployed.

Those two narcissistic fools, their millions and how they got those millions off the backs of their mostly underpaid minions is a whole different subject.
