Were you surprised that Justice Roberts was the swing vote?

I thought he'd say "No," but possibly not for the same reasons the hardline Conservative Justices might pick. Calling a fine for not having health insurance a tax is a much weaker legal argument than calling the mandate constitutional under the Interstate Commerce Clause -- but it's also much simpler. And therefore harder to knock down. :)

And I was surprised he swung the direction he did.

and I'm very disappointed and sadden by his decision.

Roberts is a wild card.

Passing the bill may make it more difficult for Obama to be re-elected! Having everyone buy healthcare may not go well with the American people! We are losing so many of our freedoms under Obama!

The individual mandate is really the only example of a loss of freedom under Obama. You will no longer have the freedom to not have health insurance.

Other than that, you haven't lost any freedom under his administration.

Once again, a Supreme Court Justice shows that trying to give them a litmus test on ideals isn't worth the effort,because once they're in, all bets are off!

This is a mandate to KICK OBAMA OUT IN 2012 AND TO OWN THE HOUSE AND SENATE. We are in for the fight of our very lives and for the life of this nation.

But what it says is the 0bama administration lied to the citizens to get this bill
passed. They swore it was not a tax and when it went to the SCOTUS where
0bama's lawyers argued it was Constitutional because it was a tax not under the
commerce clause....................

Oh, he has been saying that all along. He has to make it an issue the
people can grasp, and probably come up with some substitute plan.
The GOP already has some significant ideas in ways to decrease the
cost...... competition across state lines like automobile insurance and
tort reform. Just to say he would repeal it isn't adequate because
what if one or both houses of the congress go Democrat for balance of
power? Under those circumstances he couldn't repeal it. He might
pull an 0bama and try not to enforce it, but that wouldn't be good. I have also
heard him say he would give the states the ability to opt out of the
Affordable Care Act just like they have excused Unions and others under
0bama. That might be the only way if there is a Democratic congress.

Hope he has some GOOD speech writers, and it will help him!

I think he is actually a bit better than the rest of Tony Scalia's gang....but I almost guarantee that the fallout will be such that he will now move away from the dark side...they will kick him out.

Who was it that said that elections have consequences? Who? That's right President Elect Obama on 11/5/2008. Justice Roberts may have just done for the Romney campaign what it couldn’t do for itself. Energize the base and to remind the independent moderate voter that just because you don’t vote for Liberal Progressive for President that, that in its self doesn’t make you a racist.

Nothing wakes you up faster than cool bucket of water in the face. I’m willing to bet that when the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States of America votes on 6th November 2012 that it won’t be for President Obama.

Somewhat surprised, although what IMPRESSED me with Justice Roberts' ruling was that he passed it under the TAX clause of the Constitution and NOT under the Commerce clause!!!

So what that does is make Odumbocare the SINGLE LARGEST TAX INCREASE in American history!!! Yet another "first" for libtards!!!
