Either way, the mandate is the heart of the law, and if it goes, so goes the whole bill, as it should as it is unconstitutional.

Obama, the first president to get a law passed that every American must pay money to his rich friends. That is an accomplishment. Hopefully the SC will strike it down.

A funny thing happened on the way to the SCOTUS whose right activist judges just love to do what corporations want. The health very insurance industry companies who spent 1 million dollars daily on lobbyists to defeat the bill since their loss have called in hundreds of number crunchers to analyse their future bottom lines and profitability. Guess what? They are all for it now. In fact if the bill is defeated many have said they will still incorporate many of the provisions in effect now and coming in 2014. Now what's a SCOTUS to do who serves the corporations?

It will be struck down entirely. The individual mandate is nu-Constitutional. Anybody with kindergarten level education of the Constitution should be able to see that.

Because the Supreme's see that, they will strike down the entire law. There is nothing of value really salvageable from this horrible, corrupt, Communist law.

Hopefully, President Romney will put into affect obvious, free enterprise, positive solutions that will fix this problem once and for all for the once greatest nation on earth.

And if the Supreme Court does uphold Obama-care, the American Public will be fuming, and will take it out on Obama and the Democrats on Election Day 2012, even more vengefully than they did in 2010, especially with the Senate.

There is the legal issue of severability. Do I understand correctly that of a part (e.g. the mandate) is voided, all is rendered void, or does the Act allow pieces to be declared void?

And IF the entire Act is not trashed, is it not TIME for action by [ALL] the States to reaffirm their Rights, and therefore to nullify or secede or to just dissolve this Union?
    Beginning Friday.

James Madison issued a mandate that all men must purchase a gun. George Washington signed it into law. That's what we call a precedent. Let's see if the SC will overrule it.

That history of the musket requirement is a very strong argument for government mandates. However, in arguments before the Supreme Court, the administration didn't use it.

If it doesn't stand this will energize the people for new more radical legislation and perhaps put more restrictions on the supreme court. If worst comes to worst the desperate people will riot in the streets like they did in England. I will also expect that the Human Rights Council on the UN would like to sanction us if they do.

    The UN?
WE should kick those dirtbag, parasitic spies out of OUR country.
The US Constitution is the law of THIS land.
If you want to live in a socialist country, go elsewhere.
The union idiots were ordered to riot in England and all those other socialist freeloader countries.
Their governments and economies are going to crash as a result of their refusal to face reality. It's like when you have a gold-digging wife who won't stop pissing away all your money.
    You go broke.

Well, Socialism would be a refreshing change to the corporate fascism we have here. If Obamacare doesn't stand we should seriously consider drafting a new constitution or amending the one we already have so that our economy serves the good of everyone equally.

We gotta care about the UN, but all these years of noise we're not getting rid of it, so we're not "doing it right"! We need a new strategy, which can only be within our own domain and will probably require a new Constitution.
