Welcome to ObamaVille – Colorado homeless tent city. Is this where we are headed?

jr 2009/12/14 01:35:33
In front of a homeless camp off I-25 in Colorado Springs a brand new sign has appeared. “Welcome to Obamaville, Colorado’s fastest growing community.”. The ObamaVille sign is at a Colorado Springs homeless tent city! Liberals have tried their best to find out exactly who put this sign up, but no one as of yet has been able to figure it out.

Please See Video.

How amazing that Obama supporters are appalled at the sign but not the fact that there are families living in tents.

    There's the problem.

STOP BLAMING PRESIDENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOOK IN THE MIRROR. We caused this. We tell people, "sorry I can't help you, go talk to the Government or some church or non profit." Well they don't help either they say we don't give to individuals and then they pass the buck. No one cares about their fellow man anymore. Just pass the problem to some government program that doesn't really help and wants you to give up a right or two to get any little voucher help it might feel ok giving you. They give more to illegals. I know. We have gone everywhere. I even have an ex who owes me over $75,000 but they won't help me get it because there is nothing in it for them.

So instead of sending money to some faceless non profit, find and help one family in America. If every human being chose to help someone, we could eradicate homelessness without the government. We turn our backs on each other, we complain but we do nothing.

I am in Alamosa Colorado, I need a car, I have been offered one but it needs a mechanic. I need camping gear. So which Government agency do you think would actually help me? Wake up and take responsibility for doing nothing.

They actually aired this on TV here. Instead of helping the homeless they just put all the attention on the sign that is was put up illegally and had to be taken down... Then we never heard anything else...... very sad...............

First, the video is not available anymore. Second, this whole mess actually began under FDR with his liberal, socialist policies. Both Dem's and Repub's are responsible. But, most of all, many generations of American voters are responsible as they kept voting in bums. Time to clean house in D.C.

Hmmm? Not sure what to say to this one. However I think it is somewhat of an insult for the unfortunate families who have no other choice but to live in those conditions.

What more should we do? This is the job of the church, it always had been until the anti-religion people got the government to raise our taxes so people couldn't tithe.
  • janet nigel 2010/02/14 15:06:50
    janet
Number 1, the church wants you to believe in their make believe world. Number 2, church charities are subsides by the government (which I believe is wrong). Number 3, I make under $100,000 and have no deductions and still my taxes aren't so high that I can't tithe 10%, but I choose to help the homeless as much as I can Without strings.
  • nigel janet 2010/02/16 14:22:08
    nigel
Number 1: Obama and his crew want us to believe in their make believe world. 2. The government "donates" your tax dollars to Churches so the Cheurches can do their charity work. 3. You can't tithe and that is what the government wants. The government wants your money because they know how to spend it or donate it better than do you.

I have a suggestion. Why don't all the very rich liberals pool their money together and buy each one of these pore souls a house, a car, and one year supply of food. With all the hollywood liberal millionaires, and the liberal millionaires in Washington and the rest of the country, I bet they could make a big dent in the Colorado poverty. How about it?

Should it be Doddville, Pelosiberg, Reid town? You see the problem may have started when Bush was in office, but he was quite powerless against congress and the senate who fought long and hard to bring this financial collapse.

They are all powerless when it comes to fighting corporate. The real problem is the big money that owns them - and controls Washington and the rest of the world. They're holding America hostage until it pops out every last golden egg they think they're entitled to.

Really? So it was merely propaganda when conservatives warned about the pending housing bubble in 2003-2004, but Dodd and the rest refused to reign in predatory lending?
What exactly was I not paying attention to? Because while I see there is certainly blame enough for both sides of the aisle, the political machine in power now gets to enjoy a very large slice of this fiscal pie.

Oh b QUIET! I am so sick of hearing this crap... what you fail to understand is Bush veto'd only 5 bills that went by his desk the rest of the bills that passed the house were all democrat! Bush was so interested in making things work that he went along with the DEMOCRAT bills that drove this county into foreclosure! Yes Sarah thats right, the economic problems we are having now are due in large part to democrat bills that he helped pass, bills that Obama himself voted for! Both houses were being run by the democrats at the time, they make the bills and pass the laws. Bush went ahead with them to make YOU happy because it was liberals and democrats running the show. So you can stop with the "he inherited Bush's problems" because thats bullshit.
  • Sarah 2 chris 2009/12/16 21:58:56

I'd give you credit for realizing that Dems are in PART responsible for the mess - but, like so many, you want to make excuses for the Reps, who did even more to bring down the economy - starting with Regan and his utopian "free markets," may they RIP. Wall Street, major corps and the banks run things. They laugh at presidents because, unlike presidents, their power can't be voted out of office. They make the laws. They OWN all of Washington - Reps and Dems - that's why no matter who's in the white house, it's always the same thing - pro corporate interest - anti-taxpayer. You just provide the money. You and I mean nothing to any of them. They say whatever to get elected and then, it's all the same stuff again - left and right - creating the illusion that they represent YOU - BS. Only a massive revolt by the people can crack the system - just crack it. This gov has not been by or for the people since corporate started making the astronomical profits and buying politicians. No sense in us arguing - we don't matter.

These tent folks are camping out like teenagers do and then run into the house and get something to eat and a change of clothes and curse their parents for being so stupid. These lefties will turn conservative when they start paying for their food, clothes, houses, education etc, etc. It's just a faze that's painful when you go through it but in the long run it does make you wise to the truths of the world.
  • GINGERBREAD 2009/12/15 15:22:15

Hey, people of Colorado, do you wish that you voted for someone else, other than the representatives and senator that you voted for? When you voted in all those democrats, did you think that you were going to get "NIRVANA". And all your problems were all going to go away? Listen, OBAMA can't do squat, without the help of all those people that you voted in to office. When election time comes, in 2010, you will probably vote for them again. It serves you right, you voted for them.

Apparently there were enough of them to get those bastards elected. What did they expect? Did they expect anything different from OBAMA? They, these voters, thought that they were going to get something different from what they had. Yep, they sure got something different. What they got was a bunch of socialists.

"we wont make that mistake again".

Perhaps you shouldn't. You know that pesky word, REPRESENTATIVE, meaning those who represent the people of their state, districts or whatever. Here's a news flash.
    Colorado: 7 Republican REPRESENTATIVES
    2 Democrat REPRESENTATIVES
