Thank you for this post. How unfortunate the news does not highlight the pro-American rallies in Libya. The people shown here I believe are the true Muslims, as opposed to the radicals and extremists.

Everyone has a right to practice whatever religion they choose. They just don't have the right to impose their will on others in the name of that religion.

Very nice, very comforting to see. How sad these caring people are such a tiny drop in the ocean of hate within Islam.

I don't know about this. You see, these people behaved this way because ONE of their prophets was insulted. They in turn burned the flag of my nation, damaged U.S. Property and insulted at least FIVE of my Rabbis: ( Washington, Jefferson, Paine, Madison, Franklin).

I am willing to make a deal with all three Abrahamic religions. I will not insult your religious beliefs if you do not insult my intelligence by shoving those beliefs in my face.

The religion of Islam has a history of being violent, with mass killings, bombings, etc. They can get away with that crap in the middle east, but if the muslims try it in the U.S. they will be destroyed. The American people are armed to the teeth, and we will shut them down.

The religion of Islam and Cristianity are both violent. Remember "The Crusades" It is true that the American people are armed to the teeth now but congress both democrat and republi Con are trying to confiscate all firearms from all U.S. citizens, and Obama and the U.S. senate may soon sign a treaty with with the United Nations that could give the U.N the power to confiscate the firearms of all U.S. citizens, and the people who say they will have to pry my guns from my cold dead fingers will the first ones to surender their guns to the U.S. government and or the United Nations.

Until the economic and political situation is solved in the middle east, these things can be expected to occur. Religion has very little to do with it.

As in the words of Rodney King. "Can't we all just get along?" In the words of the Black Eyed Peas, in the song "where is the love?" " People killin' people dyin' children hurtin' hear them cryin'. Will you practice what you preach. Would you turn the other cheek? Father, Father, Father help us, send some guidance from above. People got me, got me questioning, where is Love?!

There are more of them, and they don't have the "rules of engagement" our military does. The terrorists are proof of this; when they want to kill they just kill. I have no doubt that should Muslims get organized and galvanized against the terrorists who claim to represent them, it will be over quickly.

If they decided to devote their lives to doing so, yes, it would. But they have no more responsibility to atone for the crimes of these terrorists than either of us. That, and most of them are average citizens with no military experience whatsoever. Terrorists "just kill." Normal people don't.

The American colonists were just normal people too, and yet with just a little help they beat the biggest military juggernaut of the time. Shows you what you can do if you put your mind to it.

Ignoring how much you downplay the role of the French in the colonial victory, a "normal person" in that era is in no way comparable to one today, and the colonists had strong ideological reasons, namely that they felt they were throwing off direct oppression. When it comes to mainstream Islam, this isn't the case, as the individuals oppressing them are not (in this context) the same as the terrorists you're saying they should rise up against. If terrorists attack America, it's obviously the terrorists problem first, an American problem second, and in no way the problem of people who are loosely related by religious beliefs.
  • Christo... XQNP 2012/09/15 22:34:16

Actually they do. Do they wish to be rid of these thugs? Then while they may not have the responsibility to atone for those animals' crimes, they do have a responsibility to fight back and take their country away from the terrorists.
  • XQNP Christo... 2012/09/17 04:16:46 (edited)

And in situations where terrorists are the leading power in the country, they do. When they can spare the military power, they do. But the military is always a small fragment of the population, and terrorists aren't exactly easy to find. That, and people living in the same countries that terrorists come from who actually have enough of a leadership infrastructure to potentially rebel can find it easy to sympathize with the motivations of terrorists (specifically, the reaction against perceived imperialism rather than religious fanaticism). Even then, a vast majority of Muslims don't live in a country in any way associated with Islamic terrorism.
