It's probable that the PPT has been propping up the markets for a long time, so it's quite possible that they have control over when and where to pull out the stops. However, I imagine they're unlikely to do it during a time period that a ton of people predicted in advance, because it would invite a lot of scrutiny. Moreover, a total economic collapse likely depends on factors potentially outside of their control, like OPEC countries dropping the petrodollar system and accepting other currencies for oil alongside dollars.

Just like when Bernanke and Paulson marched Bush out to the back porch (sept 18, 2008) to announce the end of the economy as we knew it, to guarantee the 0's win. The 0 will have to stage his own economic collapse this time. Look forward to a bank holiday in Oct. Hit the ATM as much as you can between now and then, convert a bunch to Canadian dollars if you can.
