I don't know if we can really do anything to fix it, we have too much complacency. I believe a lot of the black vs white, poor vs middle class trouble we have is just a smoke screen to keep us from seeing who the real enemy is.

I hate the commercials where they tell you your holding life up if you don't use a check card. I hate that Target commercial where they say "I don't know what I want but I want it now, gotta have it". A couple of years ago I even saw one that had the slogan "Be the first to have one". I don't even remember what it was.

You're right. One of the worse things I've seen is the "Prosperity Doctrine" that is flooding American churches right now. It's bad enough to get attacked every time you watch TV or open a magazine by the marketing gurus but it's really bad when the church is peddling "God wants you to have a Mercedes Benz".

We all heard this 50 years ago and again we did nothing. We hear about it every 4 years and our buddies do nothing but pile on and this is and always has been without the war.

You are right Denny. I'm only 41 and I've been hearing it for years. I don't know who the guy is but a buddy of mine saw him on TV. He says a democracy (republic) can only last around 200 years because once people realize they can vote themselves money they will bankrupt the country. What makes it bad is that we will bankrupt the world.
