Was Mitt Romney Right to Criticize Preparations for the London Olympics?

Fox Report with Shepard Smith 2012/07/27 17:33:33
You!

Mitt Romney recently made some pretty undiplomatic remarks about the upcoming Olympics in London, saying he wasn't sure if the country was prepared to host the event. Do you think his comments hold some truth -- or was it a completely unpresidential move?

What's the big deal? The press has been reporting on security problems for weeks. Why the big hoopla when a candidate actually (gasp!) says what everyone else is thinking?

Yup, that's what you said. But it's the equivalent of saying it to your wife loudly, right in front the parents. Not an excuse.

Not an excuse. Also not true. I stand behind what I wrote.

If he would have told the british media then sure. BFD.

It is his opinion, is he not allowed an opinion...If the King in his own mind said it, I guess
it would be twisted into something biblical .....
Nothing he said is any different than what the media has been reporting anyway...
It has nothing to do with how well he will do as POTUS....

Meh it doesn't matter what the Establishment moron says, we all know there is going to be some sort of red flag a la Reich stag like attack just so the UN can then all guns and liberty away and establish the one world government of the beast. Hell the opening ceremony was all about the worship of the god state and the demonization of free enterprise and free thinking.

He was accurate and totally correct but perhaps not right in that he just invited more crap for the news creators to expand on and use against him. Of course the idiotic leftist media attack on him just makes the liberals look more non-substantive than they already are.

The left & right in the UK were quite unified in criticizing him for the comments that he made while over here. I imagine that the left-wing media in the States made more of a meal of it though.
I haven't seen a single news article that has called his London visit a success.

Call me crazy but not only didn't he "jeopardize" our relations with one of our allies, even the public perception of this will have NO effect on the election. I think it's about time someone speaks honestly (he didn't even truly criticize the direction of the Olympics, I suspect you haven't even seen the actual clip).

Maybe you forget Obama's record with Israel? Obama did NOT bring us closer to our allies.

That liberal country? How many electoral votes do they have here? NONE!

Liberals ought to learn more about GB. They have so many people on the public dole retirees can't retire there due to the high taxes; socialized medicine; etc. They're leaving the country. Many are in Mexico where they have subdivisions full of Brits.

Jobless = 8.2%, too high? sure, 1% is too high but it's about the same as the US
retirees can't retire there due to the high taxes
I think you just made that up.
    socialized medicine
No-one goes into debt or bankruptcy over medical costs.

I don't think that Liberals in the States need to learn about GB from you.

You "think" I just made that up? I have no reason to make things up. What I have written are things told to me by British people who come to Texas once a year from Mexico for their annual medical check ups. Ever notice how most Brits have bad teeth? Don't you wonder why? Talk about care: if you live long enough to wait for serious surgery over there, you're lucky.

I didn't say Liberals in the States need to learn about GB from ME, they should learn from THEM. Sounds like your circle of friends is small.

Idiot! Sure, their are more S/D in Mexico full of Americans. Did I say there weren't? We're closer to Mexico than British citizens. Many have moved from Florida.

Great Britain on the public dole:
5.5 million people of working age who are currently claiming benefits, 371,000 are foreign-born. That means 6.6 per cent of working age non-UK nationals currently get a state handout, as opposed to 16.6 per cent of British nationals. (i.e., 23% total)

    In America:
"One in six Americans now receive public subsidies through Medicaid, unemployment, or other welfare programs. That ratio is a new record, according to USA Today"

As I said before: you're an idiot! Go back to school.

I don't frankly think GB has a clue what they would prefer. They believe everything the media tells them and the media is farther left there than it is here in the US.

I can assure you that not many in England had any adoration for Bush, especially after Iraq, and the British people would select Obama over Bush (and Romney) any day with a HUGE majority. Not because the media tells us to but because of their personas and foreign relations policies.
It appears that you know very little about the British. How exactly has Obama shat on GB?
  • Sterling Phoenix 2012/07/31 03:35:05

I didn't say anything about the British liking Bush or Mitt more. You guys are way far left of center, of course you like Obama more.

Of course I don't expect people in a nation that fell from power years ago due to leftist policies (and a path they continue down) to know or want what's best for the U.S. Thank god Mitt is running in the US, not GB.

You replied saying that you "don't frankly think GB has a clue what they would prefer" in response to "Do you think Great Britain preferred Bush over Obama?"
That's what I was referring to.

You don't seem to know that most of the "Socialist State" that you think the UK is has been dismantled over the last 30 years, but it seems that you know little about the UK or it's people.

    What "silly things?"

. . . that the most Conservative Jews in israel are land grabbers?

    There's nothing silly about it.

They are land grabbers . . . renegades who virulently oppose their own government and just steal Palestinian land . . . "300,000 settlers now occupy illegal outposts" on the West Bank.

    http://www.liveleak.com/view?...

But the Israeli government occasionally restrains them.

    http://www.voanews.com/conten...

You should keep up on world events . .

. . . and quit spouting stupid RWNJ drivel.

Wouldn't you like to know what you're talking about for a change?

Why are Right Wing Nut Jobs so willfully ignorant?

    Does anyone know?
