Was Mitt Romney Right to Criticize Preparations for the London Olympics?

1. Obama invaded a sovereign country for the sole purpose of executing a foreign national. That is a violation of the Geneva Convention thus making this a war crime.

2. The withdrawal from Iraq was requirement within the Status of Forces (SOFA) agreement. He was required by the agreement with Iraq to withdraw these troops. Obama and other members of the administration tried their best to persuade the Maliki government to allow thousands of troops to remain after the expiry date. However, the U.S. was not able to convince the Iraqi government to agree to such an extension. Maliki had good reason to refuse.

3. Obama entered into a war without approval of Congress thus making it a violation of our Constitution. In addition he supported the Muslim Brotherhood a known terrorist organization. As a direct result Gaddafi was executed without due process.

In the first place it's a fallacy that he "criticized" the preparations. He was asked his opinion as one who had planned an Olympics and responded that from what he had read of the problems facing them, he shared those concerns. It has been blown completely out of proportion by the press and the British tabloid-media. You should know better, Shep!!!

It was based on the news reports of possible striking employees.

First he was asked his opinion since he ran am Olympic event and secondly he was correct. If you read the headlines in London the traffic in the area is a nightmare and security is a mess and looking at some of the pictures the stands are empty....

Especially not if he ever heard about the india commonwealth games in which weeks before the games were scheduled to start some of the infrastructure that they had been building collapsed killing people, the athletes village was in a state of disarray and they were not nearly finished with their stadiums.

Thinking that there might be some security issues because you have yourself worked up over terrorism, might have a ring of truth, but every major event like this has its security threats and London is hardly the type of place that is going to host the OLYMPICS without taking security into account.

Forget he's running for the Presidency. He once ran the Olympics so if anyone would know the truth her, it would be Romney.

I remember that Canada was all ga-ga about 1976 Olympics -- until they got the bill for it.

(with the sidenote that UK has at least some experience in the area, having hosted Olympics before -- but 2012 has way different challenges than 1948).

With out looking I think it was the end of WW2 or the first Olympics after WW2 ended.. Cold war ended in the late 80 early 90s.
