Was Mitt Romney Hoping to Be Booed During His NAACP Speech?

No one likes to get booed, but some pundits are out in force saying that Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney went for the boos at a recent NAACP event on purpose. I mean seriously, what did Romney expect? If you tell The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People that the white guy is better for black people and that Obamacare sucks, you've got to be expecting some boos, right?

CSMONITOR.COM reports:
Mitt Romney expected and, his critics say, even wanted to be booed at the NAACP convention, as a signal to voters that he's willing to face an audience not likely to agree with him – and not pander.

I would think that mlk idea of judging a man on his character and not skin color would matter to the NAACP

He attended because he was invited to do so and would have been excoriated had he not attended. He gave them his standard stump speech. Would they have been happier to have been pandered to and lied to? Oh wait, that was what Mr. Biden did.

And by the way, at least he showed up...something Mr. Obama did not do.

Well, after reading the posts I can see we have a plethora of Democratic racists on here. They continue to reflect their own racism onto others (in this case Romney) in order to feel better about their own inadequate ability to deal with race or even life.

This is America, if you can't get ahead here it is your own fault. You have been handed every opportunity. No one is taking anything away from you unless you let yourself be duped.

There is not one shred of evidence Romney is a racist, yet the pundits weave a fable such as this one because the NAACP booed him. Big deal, they booed a lot of people, including George H W Bush and no one started a propaganda campaign.

Truth is we have a failed President who's supporters are in full scale panic and grasping at anything to injure Romney. They have to deflect the story from the Economy, Jobs, and the $2T+ ObamaCare debacle else Obama will face an overwhelming defeat.

Just because you could reasonably expect it doesn't mean you're hoping for it.
He stuck to his message instead of pandering.
I think it was a big PR win for him.

He knew exactly what he was doing and he did it! It was despicable and disgusting and let you know exactly what Mitt Romney is all about. He stood in front of the NAACP and pandered to the racist right-wing zealots that are still on the fence who don't think he's bigoted and backward enough to get their vote.

Yes, how dare Romney give the same speech to the NAACP as he does to every other group. He should have spoke to them like a southern black preacher or in ebonics like Democrats. How racist of him.

True to your racist nature I'm sure you feel that way. Your attitude is the reason why people like Allen West are a straight joke. This is what you think of him as well, but self hating Black republicans will gladly digest their dignity, self-worth, and pride (if they ever had any to begin with) for whatever false acceptance they receive from the party/plantation of racists bigoted hate mongers (b.k.a. the GOP).

Those were YOUR WORDS pal! That's what you said of Black people, they all talk jive and ebonics and can't speak proper English. Oh, but that's not racist huh?

Did you mean my racist nature? You looking in the mirror with a comment like:
"True to your racist nature I'm you feel that way."

I don't believe LTC Allen West is a joke. He is a Veteran just like me. We don't see color only potential. Wait a minute wasn't there a Dr. King who pushed that same idea. I never gave a damn what color my men were because in the end we all were a cohesive combat unit. You want to see colorblindness ~ look to the military.
However, you prefer to call a man who sacrificed his career to save his troops an "Uncle Tom". Well, how very White of you.

I am not a member of the GOP or any Party. However, I find the constant insistence by the Dems that minorities need Government handouts because they are disadvantaged very insulting. Why aren't you insisting that Asian-American get more assistance? They are only 4.6% of the population.

And you dare to claim Republicans are trying to keep minorities on a plantation? Obama is trying to roll back Workfare which will force more people into generational welfare (and more Whites are on welfare just due to the percentages). Clinton and the Republicans worked together to help people break these chains and now Obama and you Progressives want to weld them back.

The NAACP invited Romney know full well what his politics are and they didn't have enough class to give the man respect for taking the time to speak to them. Their actions speak for them, not Romney. He was stand up guy for even going there.

Romney didn't have the "respect" to address them with nothing more than his demagoguery of the President and come with ideas and policy initiatives of his own that warranted "respect". Oh that's right, HE DOESN'T HAVE ANY! But a bigot like yourself simply know's "he's not the Black man" and that's enough for you. Your racist jive talk and ebonics comment proves this. But of course being the bigoted backward contard you are you wouldn't notice that Joe Biden spoke before the same crowd the very next day and received a different reaction and I'd like you point out any "jive talk and ebonics he used.

One thing about a racist is they hate being called out and made for being one. If that's what you are just own it. It's sad and pathetic but you are what you are. By the way he didn't give any "vision of America" all he did was demagogue the President and spew off erroneous gibberish and he was like glass, they saw right through him.

The reality is the Obamanation is better for those dependant on goverment handouts and special consideration programs...so long as you are not a self-sufficient, productive, successful and pay taxes; those people have to carry and support the ones accepting their 'entitlments'.

Not a Republican and Obama is the one who wrote about his drug use.

So yes, it is pretty sad that America had fallen so far that a war hero was beaten by shadow candidate. People were too lazy too check out what he wrote in his book or even listen to what he was saying. He had no executive, economic, or foreign experience and we have paid for it over the last 3 1/2 years.

The NAACP is a joke. Ofcourse he wasn't going to get the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval. However, those that booed him, obviously are "clueless" about politics, and have no respect for even hoping that MLK's dream one day will come true.

Does it matter? That's like saying "I'm from the IRS. I'm auditing you this year since your taxes seem fishy. I hope I don't find anything." It is no different than saying the same thing except "I hope I find something". Either way, if something is found, you are exposed for tax fraud/evasion or whatever.
The NAACP just showed their true colors....either way they would have been exposed as racists....

That's only reason he showed up at the NAACP. He wanted the sound bites, It's to be used racially - so Whites see this poor white corporatist being booed by the Blacks, who can't understand the good he will bring, and hopefully this will encourage more White votes for Mittens. Republicons are a sick breed.
