So, did Charles Darwin harbor sexist sentiments? What did he think of the ladies?

“The chief distinction in the intellectual powers of the two sexes is shown by man’s attaining to a higher eminence, in whatever he takes up, than can woman—whether requiring deep thought, reason, or imagination, or merely the use of the senses and hands.... [T]he average of mental power in man must be above that of woman.... Man has ultimately become superior to woman”-Charles Darwin

"Man is more courageous, pugnacious, and energetic than woman, and has a more inventive genius."-Charles Darwin

What Darwin says IS true. Man is superior to women in physical strength.
WILLIAM quote mined for shock value.

Without the higher powers of the imagination and reason, no eminent success can be gained in many subjects. These latter faculties, as well as the former, will have been developed in man, partly through sexual selection,- that is, through the contest of rival males, and partly through natural selection,- from success in the general struggle for life; and as in both cases the struggle will have been during maturity, the characters gained will have been transmitted more fully to the male than to the female offspring. It accords in a striking manner with this view of the modification and re-inforcement of many of our mental faculties by sexual selection, that, firstly, they notoriously undergo a considerable change at puberty, and, secondly, that eunuchs remain throughout life inferior in these same qualities. Thus man has ultimately become superior to woman. It is, indeed, fortunate that the law of the equal transmission of characters to both sexes prevails with mammals; otherwise it is probable that man would have become as superior in mental endowment to woman, as the peacock is in ornamental plumage to the peahen.
Charles Darwin, The Descent of Man and Selection in Relation to Sex, 2nd ed., John Murray, London, 1874, pp. 859-860.

Darwin was a knob! His theories are pointless and baseless. Cocaine dribbles from a Godless soul.

Dont count a species ability to adapt to their environment as evolution, but a miracle in God's strength to create and continue life. Our human bodies and ability to regenerate life from them still confuses scientist. They cannot explain how we humans could theoretically live forever until the "death" gene is triggered to start the aging process.

Eve was not made from a bone in the hand, so she could not be oppressed, she was not made from the foot, so she could not be exterminated, She was made from the rib so she could stand next to Adam and be under his protective arm..

Silly scientists, all they do is continually prove themselves wrong..

Prove that most men at that time were sexist.

Yes it does. He attempted to use science as a means to oppress women, and minorities. He was the first REAL Nazi.

but his ideas have had consequences because of his stature. He isn't your grandpa. And his ideas came from his world view and were picked up by others like stalin, a notorious sexist. But hey, we don't want to pick on him either because after all, he's dead.

And racist as well. Hitler was a devout follower of Darwin. Hitler was working a his superior race.

' Charles Darwin originally based the idea of human evolution on a racist assumption[2], [after God was rejected as Creator], made in the late 1830s[3], that Fuegians (natives of Tierra del Fuego) resembled primates that he had observed in the London zoo.[4] In 1842 he wrote out a sketch of his theory but did not publish it'

"National Socialism and religion cannot exist together.... The heaviest blow that ever struck humanity was the coming of Christianity. Bolshevism is Christianity's illegitimate child. Both are inventions of the Jew. The deliberate lie in the matter of religion was introduced into the world by Christianity.... Let it not be said that Christianity brought man the life of the soul, for that evolution was in the natural order of things." (p 6 & 7)--Adolf Hitler

But Charles Darwin wasnt religious, and neither was his father. Darwin, in fact, was very critical of religion. Therefore, how can you blame religion as the primary aspect of his twisted thinking?

he is stating that darwin lived in a highly influential time within regards to religion, he did not specify a religion nor did he really attack in any way like the other guy did. maybe you should hold off from jumping into other peoples convo's and screaming "troll" until you are able to properly tell what a thread troll is....don't forget he is religious himself....i can't help but feel as though you thought he was an atheist lol

in an effort to take off the heat from a discussion between those 2 religious sh's (keyword being "discussion") i will voice out a little against christianity so then when you scream troll once more atleast this time you will be somewhat more correct in your accusation lol

the mythological christian god knew that by putting the tree of knowledge in the garden would lead to millions upon millions of rapes, deaths and tortures upon the people he "supposedly" loves, the christian god punished billions of people and exposed them to cancers, death, birth defects and horrific diseases because a girl chose to eat an apple, why could he not just punish his supposedly perfect creations that did the wrong thing? why punish the innocents like that?
going by christian logic whenever a parent commits a crime their offspring should then be subject to the same sentencing and punishment even moreso as killing someone is worse than eating an apple

there you go, now use the word "troll"
