Scott Walker, when campaigning, promised to do exactly what he has done, regardless of political adversity, e.g., reduced the 3.5 billion deficit in Wisconsin to 1.6 million so far and reduced unemployment from 7.9% to 6.7% so far. A greater reduction in property tax is now in the works.... and no government worker has lost his/her job because of Walker's policies, where as hundred's if not thousands of jobs would have been lost due to the demands of the unions.

The national unemployment rate, as of this writing is 8.2%....but actually about 15%. It is rare that any politician keeps his/her promises. Kudos to him for his courage; and most of Wisconsin voters have recognized his handling of their economy as opposed to Obama's handling of the national economy.

No politician is totally honest. I believe you have either been misguided or you refuse to acknowledge the stats and the facts.

That was awfully nice of you to try to present Maci with real facts. I think it was a waste of time but you deserve kudos for trying.

I'm so glad that there are a bunch of pretty smart kids out there that are about your age. To think you are the average when it comes to intelligence and morals is pretty depressing. The only fact I presented was with respect to you being stupid. Your lame posts to me pretty well proved my point.

It took you a whole week to think up thiat two paragraph piece of drivel? It's true that we never had a fact based discussion about anything but you started by expressing an opinion without one stich of fact behind it and I disagreed with it. drdos presented you with some facts and true to my prediction you didn't respond to those facts. Did you get your Duhploma from Beverly Hills High?

I think the days of unions are numbered in general. Most unions have become as abusive and greedy as the big businesses they were formed to fight against decades ago.

People especially are sick of the teacher's unions. They stand in the way of much needed educational reforms, protect bad teachers, and put their own interests before everything else, even the needs of the children they are suppose to be advocating for.

What they are paid often far exceeds the quality of their product.

I am a former high school teacher. In order to keep my job, I was forced to join the union and pay dues to support causes, political and otherwise, with which I did not agree. I resigned from the public school system as quickly as I could and taught college.

....example , in Florida we got the SAT scores and 79% of the kids failed the writing portion of the test , on the same day as we got those scores the teachers of Seminole county protested demanding a 3% pay raise ! Now that takes balls ! LOL

ETS, (Educational Testing Services) write the SAT's (Scholastic Aptitude Tests). Those essay tests are designed not to measure one's scholasticism nor one's scholastic aptitude. They are designed to see if someone can think and interpret the prompt. I know because I used to work for ETS grading the essays and supervising those scorers who graded the essays. Most of the essays from public school high school students were absolutely abysmal.

ETS also administers the Praxis for teachers. For the most part, many of the essays written by prospective teachers were more badly written than the high school students'.... and you wonder why we are rated 38th in education out of all the first world nations?

However, do not blame all the teachers. Most, (not all) are very dedicated and know their stuff and know how to teach it; but they are restricted by bureaucracy.

When Walker took over, Wisconsin's debt was 3.5 billion dollars. It is now a total of 1.6 million (that's million, not billion.) The unemployment rate was 7.6% and is now 6.7% (still not good enough) but much better than the national rate of 8.2.% Those are the stats.

How about The New York Times ( A left leaning paper which had to admit the facts)
from "The Debt Indulgence," Published: June 4, 2012:

"And Walker did at least take on entrenched interest groups. He did turn a $3.6 billion deficit into a $150 million surplus, albeit with the help of a tax collection surge. He did make it possible for willing school districts to save money on health insurance so they could spend it on students....etc."

Your source, well known for its fabrications, is not a credible one.

What's more, when you use "argumentum ad hominem," in any argument, you automatically lose both the argument and any credibility you might have had.

If you can cease the name-calling, I concede that your argument is valid, no matter who actually wrote it.I lost the debate.
However, I never mentioned that incident about the NY Times

First of all, nothing is obvious... You proved that quite nicely in your argument about Walker. I had no such thought in mind about the NY Times

The New York Times sometimes is not the most reliable news source not so much as what they do report as to what they do not report. They do have a left agenda. "Petraeus or Betray Us" ad on the front page, for example ... and not reporting news that might hurt Obama, such as not reporting for six months that ACORN was indited in 14 states for voter registration fraud. Most everything critical of Romney (and there is a lot of which to be critical) usually appears on the front page where anything critical of Obama is usually about six pages in.

Thank you for refraining from name-calling.

Agreed... I was out of line; but you brought up the topic. I really do not care what you do for a living either..... and if you can "shred" my arguments with facts from credible sources, I'll be the first to admit it.

However, once you attack the person (argumentum ad hominem) in an argument or debate, you not only lose the argument, you lose credibility as well.

Maci is a name-calling baiter. It isn't even worth responding to her, even if she is a her, unless you are a glutton for irrational personal expletives. The indications from her responses is that there is a good possibility that she is a fourth grade drop-out; but with the state of our public school system, she may have actually graduated high school summa cum laude.
