Joe Biden, America's vice president and assumed running mate on the 2012 Democratic ticket for president, will appear in the parking lot of the Republican National Convention next week in Tampa, Florida. Never before has the opposing party tried to crash a national convention.
"Any of you going to be in Florida?” Biden told reporters at a campaign stop in Minneapolis. “Well, I’m the speaker at the convention. I’m gonna be down there." Reporters assumed Joe Biden meant it as a joke, but nobody can know for sure. Last week, VP Biden also said, "Folks, where's it written we cannot lead the world in the 20th Century?" Maybe Biden cannot remember the first 12 years of the 21st Century. And maybe he cannot remember that he belongs in the Democratic party, not at the Republican National Convention.
Then again, maybe Joe Biden wants to show bipartisan support for former Governor Mitt Romney (R-MA). After all, former Democrat Artur Davis, who officially seconded Obama's nomination for president in 2008 at the Democratic National Convention, will speak at the GOP convention. After spending his entire political career as a Democrat, Davis joined the Republicans in 2012. Now, Mr. Davis has dedicated himself to defeating President Obama.
One can also argue that Democrats may have gotten desperate. Instead of crashing their own national convention (remember 1968 Chicago?), they will crash the Republican's convention in a sign of desperation. Another argument is that some Democrats will forego attending the Democratic National Convention because they do not support President Obama for re-election. Why do you think Joe Biden will be at the GOP convention?

As Republicans converge on Florida next week to formally nominate Mitt Romney, Vice President Joe Biden plans to be in town. Biden will be in Florida Monday and Tuesday, including a visit to the Tampa area, site of the 2012 Republican National Convention, the Obama campaign said today. “Any of you going to be in Florida?” Biden joked to reporters today on a campaign stop in Minneapolis. “Well, I’m the speaker at the convention. I’m gonna be down there.”

I think you can stop worrying about Joe Biden turning up at the GOP convention. He has a wicked sense of humor, and pulling someone's leg is part of his repertoire.
I remember the 1968 Democratic convention, since I was there as a reporter. If Democrats crashed their own convention it would have been news to everyone there. There was a lot of ugliness outside, most of it perpetrated by the Chicago police, but except for a couple of minor demonstrations it was all business inside.
All delegates will be present at the Democratic convention, but they will probably tune into the GOP convention for the anticipated fireworks. The Dems' gathering will be dull in comparison.
Nothing to say other than that he is the one who needs to be in shackles
