My answer bigfoot is both the Republicans and the Democrats, and it is in both parties interest to open our borders at the expense of tax payers. I'm really tired of both Reps and Dems pointing fingers at each other, when both parties are actually one and the same, they just dance a little differently. People need to get out of the left/right paradigm. ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION is truly a problem and BOTH sides are looking the other way on this issue, that or completely encouraging it.

Not to mention....the Obama admin completely overstepped their power on this. In case everyone has forgotten...there are 3 branches, the president and his admin are not ALL powerful, they must go through steps to enact laws like this, and for good reason. The 1986 Simpson/Mazolli Act [amnesty] proved that rewarding illegal immigration only causes much more illegal immigration. This act sends a strong signal that we are a weak country, unwilling to enforce our own laws and it will only encourage millions more to come and wait for similar treatment. Obama is not only refusing to enforce our immigration laws, but he is actually "aiding and abetting" illegal aliens by giving them work permits... an action that constitutes a "felony" under current immigration laws. Impeachment proceedings should commence immediately.

The Constitution still spells out the law regarding the powers of the Congress and the Executive, doesn't it? Congress has the "exclusive power to make laws." The President has the power to carry out those laws. But Obama has now attempted to "make law." Seems like a brazen overreach under Article 2, Clause 1 of the Constitution.

You make a good point but you misinterpret it. Obama did not make a law, he simply chose NOT to enforce it. Which, as you said IS within his powers.

By an executive order, a president can bypass the Congress, the courts or the Constitution.

Immigration laws exist to secure our borders and not to be "fair" to those who brazenly break our laws.
What is fair is to apply the laws equally-meaning if you do not come across the border in a legal manner you do not get special treatment. You get sent back.
