Voodoo Economics and Unemployment

Doc Freeman BTO-T-TB~pwcmjla~ 2014/01/19 07:12:10

Ninety-two million Americans are unemployed yet the spin
masters are telling voters with a straight face that the economy is recovering
nicely. The much touted 6.7 percent (U-3) unemployment rate has dropped again
miraculously in December thanks to voodoo economics and statistics that totally
discount millions of discouraged workers who have dropped out the labor force
and stopped looking for work.

If Americans out of the labor force are counted, the
unemployed rate is the U-6 reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics,
approximately 13 percent. The civilian labor force participation also dropped
to 62.8 percent.

The question nobody is asking is, if the unemployment
rate is dropping and things are so rosy, why are Democrats asking for a
three-month extension on unemployment benefits? In a normal world, it would
seem logical that these people should go back to work.

These satistics are primary do to republican obstructions by the Tea Party fraction of the house. At the end of the Bush/Cheney erra we where loosing 2000,000 jobs a month and since then there has been a steady job increase and if not for the obstruction imposed by the Tea Party the numbers would be mush improved. This individual with this posting is trying to pull an old conservative ploy of trying to turn the table on the Obama policies by claiming poor results due to those policies,While discounting the uncorporative positions taken by republicans to torpedo those policies. If your naive enough to fall for this crap then you can consider yourself a hard right winger that is stubborn, selfish and vindictive since the core of conservatism individuality even though were all in this together and if we don't pull togrther then where bond to fall.

Please tell me how Tea Party group keeps jobs from being created?

Lets start first with the fact the Tea Party cacus has not made an effort too introduce a comprehensive jobs bill in the house since walking thru the house doors in 2010 and then lets move on to the fact that the Senate comprehensive jobs bill hasn't been brought to the house floor by John Boehner because he dosen't want to be embarrassed by the Tea Party cacus.

First off the TEA Party members don't have the power nor the backing of the establishment Republicans to do anything beneficial. Second the government can't create jobs in the private sector and the endless regulations they put on businesses is what has stifled job creation. When profits are spent on regulations and taxes businesses can not grow and expand. This redistribution of wealth has cause stagnation of job growth, wage increases and that happened way before the TEA Party movement started.

Here we go back to the idealogy of trickle down economics same old same old, which has proven to be a failure. As for the Tea Party's inablity to put forward legislation because they are a minority that just dosen't cut it.As rhe saying goes nothing ventured nothing gained.

Well explain to me the Democrats plan for job growth? Stimulus? Didn't work. Shovel read jobs? There were none. Raise taxes on the wealthy? They did and still no jobs. Affordable Health Care? many people have been down graded to less than 30 hours a week so that their employer will not have to furnish healthcare. We finished the year with a 13.1% unemployment rate per the U6 unemployment rate:
What is U6 unemployment rate ?
The U6 unemployment rate counts not only people without work seeking full-time employment (the more familiar U-3 rate), but also counts "marginally attached workers and those working part-time for economic reasons." Note that some of these part-time workers counted as employed by U-3 could be working as little as an hour a week. And the "marginally attached workers" include those who have gotten discouraged and stopped looking, but still want to work. The age considered for this calculation is 16 years and over. http://portalseven.com/employ...
According to Obama and his administration we had 7.7% http://portalseven.com/employ...
We had 46.5 million last year in poverty. The rate of people insured through government programs such as Medicare and Medicaid rose to 32.6 percent from 32.2 percent. Five million Americans who have already lost their cover...

Five million Americans who have already lost their coverage since Obamacare's individual mandate took effect on Oct. 1. As many as 100 million Americans could lose their health insurance through their employers next fall because the plans do not meet the standards of Obamacare, a study released on Wednesday by the American Enterprise Institute estimated. To start with only 48 million people uninsured before the Affordable Health Act. So what is the Democrat plan for more jobs??? The Democrats will not even allow the Keystone Pipeline to be built that give us at least 20,000 job right now.

This reply is just another attempt to turn the table on the debate a common tool employed by conservatives. If you don't have anything constructive to reply about the Tea Party zip it.As far as your claim about the stimulus I challenge you to read "what the stimulus worked tampa bay times".Then you can follow that up with"Senate GOP blocks Obama's 60 billion infrastructure plan"then you can go all the way back to 2008 and read"Barack Obama's emergency economic plan"Then you will find that the real problem with the unemployment rate is repiblican obstruction lead by the Tea Party caucus not too mention their government lead shut down that cost the economy to take a 24 billion hit.

The Democrats controlled both the House and the Senate from 2007 through 2010. So it couldn't be the Republicans fault alone since they were not in control of the Congress till 2011.

Well it is rather hard when you do not have the numbers. out of the 435 Reps in the House only 51 are Tea Party members. The Senate has 5, so in order for them to bring anything up for a vote with Harry Reid as Gestapo ain't going to happen.

A bill or legislstion can be introduced in the House by any member of the House. If the House Speaker dosen't bring it to the floor for debate then its dead.Even though a bill dosen't see the light of day the fact it was submitted is still a matter of House record. Here in ls my point no Tea Party cacus member is on record of introducing any comprehensive job bill.As for Herry Reid why he is even brought into this debate is beyond my understanding. The debate started with the Tea Party cacus in the house.

Several decades ago liberal/progressive's refereed to Reaganomics as "Voodoo economics" and "trickle-down" in derision.
Now they have their own Witcheconomists working their own brand of voodoo and are pissed because no one will believe their claim it's working.

    Talk about derangement!!
