His name is Virgil Goode.

He's running for President on the ticket of the Constitution Party.

For everyone accusing him of being a "spoiler" for Obama, you can count about two or three accusing him of being an "anti-Muslim bigot." In this interview (linked below), he answers both charges.

More to the point, he lays out his positions on the issues:

Immigration: a moratorium on all immigration visas until unemployment dips below 5 percent, and probably an end to "diversity visas."

Foreign policy: require a formal declaration of war before sending troops anywhere. (Presumably, "Authorizations for the Use of Military Force" do not satisfy him. Congress should instead say, "Be it declared on the authority of the Congress of the United States, that the United States is in a state of war with such-a-country, until such time as such-a-set-of-conditions are met.")

Taxes: replace the income tax with a national sales tax, or a flat tax. (Not both.)

International trade: repeal any agreement that fosters "outsourcing" of jobs to other countries.

Pro-life.

Anti-gun control.

English as the official language.

Term limits for Senators and congressmen.

Marriage = one man and one woman.

To achieve the last two, he would amend the Constitution if necessary.

The question before the house: aside from whether he would win, lose, or "spoil," do you find him a good candidate for President, or a bad candidate?

I'm voting for Goode. Listen, voting for a third-party candidate isn't the same as throwing your vote away. I plan to vote on principle, rather than the apathetic mentality that I have to vote for someone like Romney for whom I have no intention of voting.

    Vote on principle, America!

Not going to label good or bad, JUST GOING TO CALL HIM WHAT HE IS A VOTE STEALER FOR HIS OWN SELFISH BEING, AND IF ONE PERSON VOTES FOR THIS MAN THEY MAY AS WELL PULL THE LEVER FOR OBUTTMAN. WHAT A WASTE, AND A WASTE OF SOME DIMWITTED VOTER THINKING THEY ARE HIGHER AND MIGHTIER "ALLEGED MORAL" PRINCIPLE. NO USE FOR THE LIKES OF THIS MAN, RON PAUL, GARY JOHNSON, TOM HOEFLING. NONE WHAT SO EVER AND NONE WHAT SO EVER FOR THE "ALLEGED LOVERS" OF COUNTRY THAT VOTE FOR THEM.

Virgil Goode may be a good candidate - but being next to no one has heard of him he has less than a snowball's chance in hell of winning. There have been elections previously that I have voted for who I thought was the above all best candidate regardless of their chances but even if I further researched Goode and came to that conclusion, something that I can't do from what little I've found here, I would not waste a vote this year. Too much is at stake. Obama and all of his ilk HAVE TO GO!

Claims and promises are easy. Following through with them is not and many never intended to in the first place. I'd give him a chance if he were a serious contender but I'd be skeptical. My leg doesn't tingle that easily any more.

Why? If he can't even make 47 states what would be the point ... ? Just because he runs as a Constitutionalist I see very little but the basics in what following the constitution means. I feel Johnson better represents the Constitution and is on the ballot in my state as well.

Obama is running on the Communist Party ticket.

"The National Board of the Communist Party USA supports Barack Obama"
CPUSA considers it imperative to give its full support to the most progressive wing of U.S. imperialism through support for Barack Obama.

Wasn't it 80 years that the Communist party had their own candidate. Well, they still do with Comrade Obama.

I don't care if he is pro-life as long as abortion does not become federally banned - it should really be a states issue, not a federal one. I do care if he wants to amend the constitution to recognize marriage as only between a man and a woman. Regardless of ones stance on same sex marriage people should realize that in reality it has no place in legislation, especially federal legislation.

A spoiler for Obama ? Delusional - He probably will cost R-Money about 30 votes nationwide

I am a Constitutionalist and I stand by the party's platform. But I also know that voting for Goode will only help Obama and I WILL NOT help Obama. My primary goal this election is to unseat Obama come hell or high water! I urge all to consider reality.. voting for conservative third party candidates will do one thing and that's split the vote. Romney will potentially lose and that means Obama will win.. none of the third party candidates have a prayers chance of winning. And believe me when I say I understand the desire to vote on principal for third party candidates, but I urge you.. this election especially... don't do it! I believe the future of America depends upon it.

the man was a rousing business success.

    Obama has failed.

Obama is gone, Romney replaces him.

at that point, we'll get to see, won't we?

using democrat memes to bust Romney's chops, doesn't make Goode or GJ any better. it just makes you tools of the DNC.

question, for you, though. presume Obama continues his self immolation on stage tonight. presume Romney continues to accelerate his lead over Obama and wins in a landslide.

where does that leave the full blooded Libertarians?

Nope I want a "real guy" in the white house that succeeded with hard work and sweat. Not some douche born with a silver spoon in his mouth that made his money on the backs of taxpayers and failed company's.

You Mittiot's keep proving over and over you are mental midget's.

You don't want success for our country for some unknown reason. You want to maintain more of the failed policies that have brought this country to it's knees.

And you don't want liberty for the people whats your F-ing problem?
