A recent Pew study, reported by the New York Post, revealed a shift in the way we consume news. TV news consumption still outpaces YouTube News consumption. However, a younger demographic is more likely to check out citizen journalism on YouTube of major events and natural disasters rather than seeking out traditional TV news.

The New York Post article goes on to state that, "the study shows YouTube as a global news arena where professional and amateur video bleed together, and is made consumable in on-demand style."

NYPOST.COM reports:
A new study has found that YouTube has become a major platform for news, one where viewers are turning for eyewitness videos in times of major events and natural disasters.

I try to look at several sources for information.

I rarely watch tv and I think that the news on tv doesn't provide enough detailed info.

EW! What is with the unsanitary beech ball fro? Didn't they make that illegal in the late 70's for a reason? I can smell the flammable Jerry-curl juice afro-sheen from here.
I don't know what is more repulsive, natural nap or chemically processed nap.

All of the above. It's the only way to get a well rounded idea of what's going on in the world. I watch YouTube but I go and read elsewhere so I can make an informed decision/opinion vs taking what a YouTuber says as absolute truth.

I watch FOX, NBC, CNN, RT, and BBC/BBC world for news. I prefer to listen to NPR for on the go in the car news; I try to stay away from the Rush talk show (each time listen to him, all I hear is hatred in a raw form) When I read, I read WP and AP. Online, I msnbc and foxnews network. I come to sodahead for comic relief for those who misheard something the president said and say He's being a "nazi socialist fascist marxist" (just about every word in the book). So in the end, I watch all forms of media from both conservative and liberal talk points. I also recommend those of you who only watch liberal media (CNN, NBC, ABC) and only conservative (FOX news) to watch the other person media outlet and see what they are saying about each other. We need to start breaking down these party lines before it becomes the end of us all in America.

Everywhere. Mostly online, then radio, TV is dead last and NO Newspapers.

Further, my news doesn't come from scripted media-unless I want to find out the latest propaganda and spin. But then that's not news at all. Nope, what I do is research sources to find my news and formulate my own opinion, therefore to say I don't permit happenings and opinions to be spoon-fed me. Period. And I prefer it that way.
