A recent Pew study, reported by the New York Post, revealed a shift in the way we consume news. TV news consumption still outpaces YouTube News consumption. However, a younger demographic is more likely to check out citizen journalism on YouTube of major events and natural disasters rather than seeking out traditional TV news.

The New York Post article goes on to state that, "the study shows YouTube as a global news arena where professional and amateur video bleed together, and is made consumable in on-demand style."

NYPOST.COM reports:
A new study has found that YouTube has become a major platform for news, one where viewers are turning for eyewitness videos in times of major events and natural disasters.

The mainstream media does not report. They are nothing but propaganda for the government. I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them. Take for instance that they had led the public to believe that Romney has the nomination for months now which coulcn't be further from the truth. Then they refuse to report all the voter fraud that the GOP has committed. They are picking your president for you and you all allow it.!

I use a combination of sources but one it will never be is YouTube. I really don't need a bunch of idiots reporting anything. We already have too many on the air.

Mostly internet, but then I will check with KUNM 89.9 and NPR (Democracy Now) for news. Television is a pastime that I will not be revisiting before/after college.

CNN has been trying to turn from the Left towards the center like FOX News, but every time they get close, Ted Turner pulls back hard on the reins.

There needs to be a box for all of the above, and which one has more time spent on it. I checked Newspaper because we read LA TImes and Wall Street Journal, and spend more time doing that, but also watch TV News a lot and listen to radio talk and then for up to the minute check online...all in declining order of time spent, but not relevance, necessarily.

Fox News is owned by a corporation that supports authoritarian regimes and also gave a large sum of money to the Obama campaign in 2008.

ALL THE ABOVE. I read the "Oklahoman" every morning, sitting on my front porch swing, with my cup of coffee. Then I come in the house and turn on the TV and watch C-Span. Then I turn on my computer and get the news from Yahoo, and other sources. When I drive I listen to the radio in the car.

The sources I examine daily are...

    2 government-sources

    • Russia Today (R.T.) English — which seldom questions the Russian Federal government & its block of allied national governments, but often criticizes the U.S. Federal Government & its block

    • 日本放送協会 ("Nippon Hōsō Kyōkai"; "Japan Broadcasting Corporation"; N.H.K.) WORLD English — which is an inverse, pro-U.S. Federal Government version of R.T.

    2 private sources

    • Philippine Daily Inquirer

    • A.B.S.-C.B.N. News — which is apparently owned by the the Lopez clan

If I have extra time, I search...

    • Drudge Report

    • Wall Street Journal Online

    • Zero Hedge

(sigh) But, man... checking the news takes so freaking long!
