The United States and its allies have taken the initiative to launch missiles toward Libyan targets.
Firing more than 110 cruise missiles from the Mediterranean Sea, American, French and British warships have already struck multiple military targets. This assault has been cause for great cheer for the rebels, who have been attempting to overthrow Moammar Gaddafi for quite some time.
But the fight is far from over. Gaddafi has condemned these actions and vows to fight what he calls "flagrant military aggression."
Meanwhile, America's long-term plan regarding Libya is unclear.
U.S. officials say that, for now, its only concern is protecting Libyan civilians and forcing Gaddafi into retreat. Though the U.S. has acknowledged that their inevitable goal is to overthow Gaddafi from power, officials admit there is no clear path of doing so.

HE has to be in front of Congress getting the OK to use our people and forces this way. ITS what they call Checks and Balances so our President does not just become a DICTATOR like this one IS.
