The Fraser Institute report smacked U.S.A. down from 8th place a decade ago. Big government policies and a trend to more regulations by Washington, D.C. has dropped America out of the top 10.
The report blasts American policies in regard to freedom:

"a trend to more regulations by Washington, D.C." .... what a freaking joke! The oligarchy always whining about "regulations" while they have installed their own people into the regulatory positions and fell asleep at the wheel. LMAO! What a JOKE!

We are also more philosophically divided as a nation than I can personally think of in history, except for probably the Civil War.
Vote Obama out, who cares? The USA and the rest of the world are on a path that isn’t about to change regardless of who is in the oval office.
We are on an unsustainable path in so many areas. Neither Romney nor Obama will change the pathway much. Romney may tinker around the edges just a little bit, but basically we are headed for a cliff and the major difference is how fast we are moving toward it.
Personally, I would just as soon we go over it sooner and stop drawing this thing out.
All I will say is, 1) I'm not a liberal, and 2) since when was this about the Patriot Act? This discussion was about the economy. But since you brought it up: I never supported the Patriot Act, and I still don't. I don't care whose policy it is, it is a blatant violation of our rights as citizens (that shouldn't affect anyone's decision in this election, though, because both candidates support it anyway).
That is what leads to things going from bad to worse.
Yeah, we're so far in decline soon we'll be like Norway. As if. Move along, folks, nothing to see here.
You do the math.
