Chris Stevens, who was the U.S. ambassador to Libya and an envoy during the revolution in the country, was killed, along with three others, in a rocket attack outside the American Consulate in Benghazi. U.S. officials have told The New York Times and CNN that the attack may have been planned by a group that "had either been waiting for an opportunity to exploit like the protests over the video or perhaps even generated the protests as a cover for their attack."

In a statement Wednesday morning condemning the attack, President Barack Obama referred to Stevens as "a courageous and exemplary representative of the United States." Stevens, 52, was the first U.S. ambassador killed in the line of duty since 1979.

I think some people forgot we already went to war in Libya when Obama violated the war powers act and sent the Navy to install the Muslim Brotherhood and kill Qadafi without congressional approval.

How is Obama's bow-and-scrape foreign policy working out for us?

I think we need to STOP trying to placate our enemies in the middle east to make them like us. STOP giving them money. STOP doing business with them and STOP apologizing for having a free country in which its citizens may speak freely without fear of the government punishing them for it. I do not support the man who made the film nor to I agree with him. What I support is his right to express his opinion no matter how stupid it may be. Kinda weird that he was hauled in for questioning by police. That would not have happened before Obama became president. These terrorists did not murder our people over a film. Of course they are shouting about it because it gives them something to say. It was retaliation over 9-11 as we all know.

The political uncertainty gripping the nation after key UPA ally Trinamool Congress pulled out has cast its shadow on the financial markets and may moderate the rally which had been sparked off by the government's sudden reform push.

The future of economic reforms unleashed by Prime Minister Manmohan last week and its impact on the coalition will hold the key for setting the future trend of the market. While the government has strongly defended the reforms, its ability to hold onto its commitment against the onslaught launched by the Trinamool and other parties would be crucial.

"The market was expecting a lot of smaller announcements as a follow-up to last week. But now, with so much uncertainty, things may get a little muted. The government's future is unclear and markets don't like uncertainty," Varun Goel, head of portfolio management services at Karvy, said.

We need to stay out of all Arab/Muslim countries. They all hate us. Let them fail and stop giving them our money. They don't deserve any help. Israel is our only true friend and ally in the middle east.

The Ambassador to Libya was outside the embassy when he and three others were attacked. Ambassador Chris Stevens, 52, died as he and a group of embassy employees went to the consulate to try to evacuate staff as the building came under attack by a mob firing machine-guns and rocket-propelled grenades.
He was the first U.S. ambassador to be killed in the line of duty since 1979. The attackers were a mob and it would have been hard to protect against such an army of angry people. The one who should be held responsible for some of this, is the man who made the movie which provoked it.
We know that the riot had probably been planned to coincide with 9/11, but the movie just made things worse. The Libyan people helped the Ambassador, taking him to a hospital. He made a lot of friends with the people there. It's a shame that someone in America would provoke an attack against our own embassy and fellow Americans, and has caused harm to the progress that's been made in Libya.

I was happy at first because I thought they said Cat Stevens was killed - I love his music but he's a terrorist sympathizer. Anyway, sorry to hear that it was Chris Stevens. All in all we should get our asses out of the middle east and just let them live happily in the 12th century. If we wait long enough, eventually they'll kill each other off with any luck.

We should not be involved in the Middle East at all. We should remove all of our financial aid and military personnel from the region. The United States of America should allow the nations in the Middle East to resolve their conflicts, internal and external, on their own without interfering.

The getting involved should have been BEFORE the attack..... Daily Intelligence Briefings..... Not so daily with Obama.. he has missed over half. ........... According to senior diplomatic sources, the US State Department had credible information 48 hours before mobs charged the consulate in Benghazi, and the embassy in Cairo, that American missions may be targeted, but no warnings were given for diplomats to go on high alert and "lockdown", under which movement is severely restricted. Obama's last attendance to a "Daily" briefing was Sep.5.......

LOL. There is absolutely no proof that an ARMED group would bring rocket-propelled grenade launchers to the Libya consulate. There are also dozens of such reports all over the world. Sending troops to every hot spot is like chasing after gophers in a Vietnam jungle. Of course if Obama sent troops to every f*cking hot spot in the world, the conservatives would accuse him of "putting American troops in harm's way" and "wasting our precious resources". Face it. You are DESPERATE to find any angle that puts Obama in a negative light. Romney already tried that and got his a$$ chewed off.

Poor Kenny......... Daily Intelligence Briefings.... the word is "Daily" for NATIONAL SECURITY..... important..... So the last meeting Obama attended was Sep.5..... with the High Alert Anniversary of Sep 11 days away...... "Senior Diplomat Sources" warned of a possible attack on Sep 11 of US Embassies....... now that would be a good thing to toss around the table and for sure put US Embassies on high alert..... NOT SEND IN THE MARINES........ but HELLO..... they are not protected.... what good are Marines with guns and no bullets? Romney got his a$$ chewed off as a distraction .... news on him was better than the real problem.........

The video that generated such an uproar in the Middle East was directed by a Los Angeles-based Republican [There are numerous police cars surrounding the director's house as I type], and Republican, Pastor Terry Jones, agreed to PROMOTE this video. An American diplomat LOST HIS LIFE because the American rightwing Taliban couldn't keep its f**king trap shut.

Let's not forget that I was telling those media type conservatives the same as I told you down below.
"Sex-fueled womanizer" I like that, can I use it.

When you have 22 wives, you had better be sex-fueled or their are going to be a lot of deprived women. I am pretty sure that Mo was testosterone fueled though.

Such hate, I will suggest a change of scenery for you. I recommend either the Sudan or Somalia. There will be no Christians, especially no Reverend Jones, and I hear it is nice this time of year. There will be no conservative radio, TV or FOX.

Obama's has been a Islamic terr sympathizer his whole life. I am surprised that it took those guys this long to realize it.

I am talking about the Mahound, I forgot to mention that he only had 13 at the most at one time. While the Koran limited the average Mohammadan to 4 wives, he received a special dispensation from Allah to have as many as he wished.

That is what you call an internal power struggle for dominance within the Islamic terrs.

No we should not have aided our enemy (AQ) in their traitorous efforts to take over a nation that was somewhat friendly to us, as opposed to the guy who used to fund Islamic terrorists.

If Obama & Congressional leaders had decided that Kadaffi must go, I would have had no problem approving that course of action. However, when the Islamic Conference grants permission to the UN to take action, then the UN tells NATO what to do. That is not in our interests, especially since most of NATO sat out the military action.

Also, George Soros has major interests in Libyan oil.
  • Kenny T. Red Branch 2012/09/14 23:48:38
    Kenny T.
No. There was no "granting" of permission by the Arab League. There was simply universal CONSENSUS regarding taking action against a genocidal maniac, Qadaffi, whose TANK COLUMN was EN ROUTE to the city of Benghazi.

If you were President and your staff said, "Mr. Red, We have it on SATELLITE. Qadaffi's tank battalion is en route to Benghazi and we have credible intel that says his troops have been ordered to shoot to kill 'anything that moves'".

Tell me now, Red Branch. Would you sit there on your a$$ and PONDER over what to do -- or would you do WHATEVER it takes to prevent a mass killing - and do it quickly?

You and so many of the SH conservatives have no clue whatsoever.

And this using Soros as a whipping boy for all things liberal is growing a bit stale.
