The Politico has picked up the story of Maila 0bama's "spring break" and its disappearance from the net. Their version contains an explanation from Kristina Schake, Communications Director to the First Lady:
From the beginning of the administration, the White House has asked news outlets not to report on or photograph the Obama children when they are not with their parents and there is no vital news interest. We have reminded outlets of this request in order to protect the privacy and security of these girls.
Don't recall the media doing this for the Bush girls. But then again, I suppose President Bush didn't "request" this from the media.
I guess he believed we still had a free press in this country, and that the use of taxpayer funds is a legitimate subject for news reports.
LOL, I can just see the steam pouring out of the libs' ears!
"I guess you want his daughters killed, blah blah blah!!!!!!".
No, of course not. But how about The Two Zeroes exercising some common sense as parents? Like, umm, maybe not send your 13 year old daughter to a violent narco-terrorist state for "spring break"? Not requiring massive security precautions? Like, sending her to an infinitely safer location somewhere in the United States?

Mel the Witch POTL PWCM~JLA 2012/03/20 13:41:41+9One thing is for sure...You will be picking up the tab for this little jaunt...Hope she enjoyed it...

Perhaps it was triggered by the weight of all the security personnel and equipment that accompanied her on the trip?
THAT'S just PISS-POOR PARENTING.

An article about a lawsuit going on in Chicago and how it relates to this Iraqi British billionaire that I have never heard of can be found at the link below:

Where ever she went right wing Obama haters would have had something to say. The only thing I have to say is that I hope she really enjoyed her spring break in Mexico and I am happy all precautions were taken for her safety.
I am also happy to say that so far as we know, Malia did not go off on a drunken topless binge of shame and degradation as the Bush twins did as often as possible (like father, like daughters). She also does not have a boyfriend living in the White House as some one's pregnant unwed daughter's mother allowed under her roof..
I think the Obamas set a good example, one to which I hope my grandchildren will aspire. Conservatives should lead by example beginning with telling the truth every once in a while instead of always spewing right wing lies, BS, hate, rhetoric, spin, talking points and propaganda against the Obamas every chance they get.
The Bill of Rights doesn't ***grant*** any rights at all.
(Emphasis on the operative word.)
Just pathetic.
Your statement is demonstrably false. Apparently you are completely unaware that the State Department has a travel advisory on the area.
They're entitled to do something stupid like sending their kid someplace where the State Dept. has a travel advisory. But then let THEM pay for the 25 Secret Service agents that have to accompany her.
RWNJs would have had something to complain about no matter where she went. The president and his family do not have to pay for the 25 Secret Service agents because they comes with the territory and your and my tax money pay for them. LMFAO Secret service agents have to accompany her wherever she goes, so what's the problem. Hate much?
Another incorrect statement. If anyone were to happen to her (in a place that's so dangerous that the State Dept. has a travel advisory out on it), it becomes an international incident that involves all of us.
And you are merely distracting from my central point, which is that the media have the right to report on ALL uses of taxpayer money.
My primary concern is exactly what I stated. I believe that any use of taxpayer money is a legitimate topic for a news story - no matter WHO it involves. Period.
My secondary concern is also exactly what I said. If you would actually bother to read what someone says, rather than rush to a kneejerk response, you would have seen that I didn't claim I'm concerned for Malia's "safety", per se. (Not that I want anything to happen to her - I don't).
I said I'm concerned that her stupid parents are sending her to a very dangerous place, and risking involving the US in some kind of international incident.
Your kids should have parents who are "stupid" enough to be President and First Lady of the United States of America, hater.
I am sure Malia's parents and the other children's parents and the Secret Service have a better sense of what is and what is not dangerous for their children than you do. The CIA is paid to anticipate whether or not the trip to Mexico could potentially be a risk that could involve the US in some kind of international incident.
As I said before haters are only looking for something to complain about when it comes to the Obamas. No matter where Malia spent her vacation, the Obama haters would still be complaining and hating.
