This is a wonderful example on legal immigration. Alex Boye became a citizen after waiting for the requisite time after getting his green card. Even President Obama cannot rush the process for 800,000 illegal to become citizens so that he could get their votes. First you apply for a green card, you wait for the investigation to be completed, finger printing, then you get the card. After the green card, then you wait 5 years (or 3 if you are legally married to a citizen) then another interview, another criminal & background checks, more fingerprinting, then if everything is fine, you'll get a date to be sworn in. Obumble does not even know the immigration process to get to the citizenship stage. It is very complicated and very long.

I'd rather hear that for a super bowl half time than the brown eyed dweebs, or MAD-Donna, Jackhole Jackson, etc.

I'm quite sure most people love being a citizen of their country. This country America is not my home. I'm a sorjourner while living here in America. My home is laid up in heaven waiting for me when my time down here on earth has come to an end. America is the only country I want to sorjourner in. America provides freedom, justice, and liberty to all its citizens.

There are times; when I think that perhaps birth right citizenship; should be exchanged for birth right eligibility. i.e. if anyone is born in the US, they would automatically be given the chance to become a citizen upon their 18th Birthday; but wouldn’t automatically be a citizen.

Before the Civil War and the 13th Amendment "created" US citizenship the people were sovereigns nationally and citizens of the State they were born in. While ex slaves gained many rights and privileges, people who were free and who, before the war, were part owners of the United States, became !3th Amendment citizens....owned by the United States.

I sometimes wonder how many naturally born citizens would even be able to get through the process to BECOME a citizen and how different the state of current affairs would be if everyone had to go through this. As Thomas Paine said, "That which we obtain too easily, we esteem too lightly."

I am an average American and what I know is my children have grown up only half as free as I did and their children only half as free as them.
