    My healthcare costs have increased 300% in the past 25 months. Blue shield sent me a letter saying that it was due to new regulations they are preparing for OBamacare. I was paying $151 per paycheck. NOw I'm paying $400.

    They operate at less than a 5% profit margin. So if that were true then a 300% increase in premiums would result in a 70% profit margin. Profit margins have not increase only the costs of the new regulations. So I tend to believe the letter.

    Insurance agents get paid 2-5% on every premium you pay. The CEO who is getting millions a year writes his salary off as a business expense. They have banks of accounts who are paid to maximize write offs. For instance if they buy each of their executives a new car each year for "business use" that is a legitimate write off.

    They can set aside a reserve for claims. So if you decide you'll get lots of claims from 25 year olds you set aside a large reserve. Course if you don't get those claims you just make money on the investments you made with those reserves. Remember there are no money bins.

    You can set up an agent training session for a week on the beach in Hawaii and write that off.

    That is no different than the Unions or the federal government. Free cars, huge salaries, write off everything. CAl fire just took their execs to a "training" at a resort in Pismo Beach. They did it with a 3.6 million dollar account they had hidden from the state, so they could push through some more taxes (because they are broke). It's the same corruption everywhere. I trust the private sector to run things far more than the government. You can always switch insurance if you don't like the one you have. But you're stuck with Government agencies like CAl fire stealing from us.

    Unions used to be something good creating worker rights fair wages ect. But as times shifted and things grew politicians did things to push them out of certain industrys and the legislated ways for them to steal from the people they were supposed to help.

    So now you got big unions that only cover a few select sectors of the market not giving them power to help set fairer and better laws. So without the power they once had they instead pushed on employers taking a cut of the employees paycheck. And since it goes to a couple select people that run union. They got greedy so they kept pushing and pushing and eventually got to be millionaires. So for them to use the power of a union to get employees a raise it would also net them a raise. But unlike the worker they are millionaires if they push a company till they go bankrupt or decide to layoff everyone they dont care. They wont have to live off credit cards till they can find a job again.

    Unions used to represent people but they push to hard its why hostess died. It is why auto industry hasnt been bobbing in and out of bankruptcy. I mean when you force a company to hire workers with no experience and a ged for 60k a yr your business isnt likely to last long.
