Obama spent 1 TRILLION DOLLAR$$$ to fix the economy and 40 months later unemployment WENT UP to 8.2%.

Obama has mortgaged our kids future with a HUGE DEBT and has created FORTY
STRAIGHT MONTHS OF UNEMPLOYMENT ABOVE 8%.

Is he ONE AND DONE in November?

How's that stimulus workin' out for ya? Or those "green jobs"? They worked out great for his bundlers and cronies. But not for the rest of us. Not for those who have given up after one rejection slip too many.

The problem with unemployment is that the employers can get away with so much these days and can justify terminating and employee for any reason.

There are hundreds of examples I could give but these two will suffice.

Example an employee starts to work on the 11th of June and on September 12th they call off sick. Even though it is out of the 90 calendar day probationary period, also the time when benefits and vacation/comp time begin to accrue. An employer can twist the numbers and justify terminating an employee for excessive absenteeism.

Another example is that an employer can terminate an employee for poor production and get away with it, even though the material/information/resources that the employee has to work with are flawed.

What the United States needs is for there to be tighter reigns on employers to retain employees instead of jetasoning them when they get close to a pay raise time or getting benefits that the company has to pay in to.

Goddess forbid that an employer should have to make a contribution towards benefits or
    make vacation/comp time available.

Maybe if President Obama were to find a way to encourage employers to retain instead of terminate, we would all be alot better off.

Your portrayal of the economy is slanted to say the least.

Yes the economy has slowed BUT IT IS STILL GROWING> The cause, The failure of the Republicans in the Senate to vote to approve cloture to allow debate on thejobs bills from the House to pass a jobs bills program established in over 12 of 60+ that are waiting in the Senate.

Start looking to where the Bottle Neck is and you will find the obstructionistic Tea Party Republicans in the way every time.

Liberals' cluelessness astounds me sometimes... STILL!

You think the economy is still growing?

Although Reagan inherited a HIGH unemployment rate that soard to over 10% before his plans could go into effect, he also inherited out of control inflation (13.5%!!) and a misery index of 20.76%!! Obama inherited a misery index of 9.6% - N O W it's 10.85%!!!

Reagan slashed taxes and within 2 years had the GDP OVER 8%. He got unemployment down to 7.2% by election day WITHOUT pulling a smoke and mirrors trick by pulling people out of the calculation just to make the unemployment numbers fictitiously drop.

At this point in Reagan's Presidency, the GDP was between 6% and 8% and the economy was creating OVER 5000,000 JOBS A MONTH (not 69,000).

Your supposed killing by the Senate of 30 bills is NOT because of the 51 vote majority of Democrats, but because the Tea Party Republicans have told the senate Democrats they will NOT VOTE FOR ANY BILL to come out of committee via a cloture vote of for debate. So they have not been presented to the Senate for an up or down vote.

You obviously have NO CLUE as to just what the Republican Party has been doing to the US Senate. It is deadlocked by the Cloture rule which is a "silent fillibuster"

perhaps if congress would've passed the jobs bill, we wouldn't be having this discussion. i wonder how poor to middle class conservatives don't see that. they blame him for not doing anything when their party is the one keeping what he wants to do from being realized. if anyone should be pissed at him, its liberals like me. where is the gun control? the decriminalization of MJ? the stronger environmental policies? why are we still in afghanistan? we are sending drones to Syria and Yemen now? why is No Child Left Behind still in force? why hasn't the Patriot Act been overturned? why don't we have universal healthcare? why haven't the Bush tax cuts been repealed? conservatives should be happy not much has changed. aside from advancing civil liberties and getting out of Iraq... but keep going on about how awful he is and how extreme he is. i wish he was what they keep saying he is! i would be a much happier citizen.

An 0bama apologists is a sad thing to see.

    How to explain your delusion?

    Difficult to say...

I mean they actually think 0bama achieved his promise to withdraw from Iraq even though Bush signed the withdrawal agreement in 2008. The troops left on BUSH'S timetable (not 0bama's joke of a campaigns promise: "in 16 months of inauguration") LOL

Maybe you are just the last true rube of American society?

Maybeyou are just an illiterate mark... A con-mans DREAM!

Funny you should mention Reagan... although Reagan inherited HIGH unemployment (0bama 7.8%), out of control inflation (13.5%!!) and a misery index it has taken 0bumbler 3 years to match, there is no comparison of the 2 Prez's.

Reagan slashed taxes and within 2 years had the GDP OVER 8%. He got unemployment down to 7.2% by election day WITHOUT pulling a smoke and mirrors trick by pulling people out of the calculation just to make the unemployment numbers fictitious drop. Obama has 40 STRAIGHT MONTHS of unemployment OVER 8% with accounting tricks to boot!

0bama kool-aid drinkers like you forget he had majorities in BOTH houses for 65% of his term so far and got everything he wanted for the first 2 years...

Useful idiots like are parroting the pathetic line from 0bumbler that it's the Republicans stoppin...

Actually... there's a Sesame Street episode that might explain "Government" in language easier for you to understand.
  • Ira CFlyJuice 2012/06/05 12:32:36
    Ira
Did you know government has been reduced in size since Obama took office? Nearly 600,00 jobs cut from government pay roles. For all the cons who want smaller government, there it is. They are getting what they want. The only issue they have is that they have done little to contribute to this reduction and cannot take credit for it.

Even if you respond with the predictable, "Well, look who is in charge of the house", BS, then instead of bashing Obama, you should be happy that working with him is achieving your so called agenda.

By the depth and tenor of your vituperations, continuing a con-verstation with you is senseless and insulting. Your mind is closed and irretrievable. You are a nasty POS. Lets see: Oh, yes, Christian Conservative. When you post that on your profile, it is tantamount to a tramp stamp on a whore. Instantly easy to understand their position on anything, flat on their back!

Actually, I'm Greek Orthodox... so I don't know where your bigoted anti-Christian rant fits in.

Obama had nothing to do with the 600,000 jobs cut from Gov. payrolls.... these are state and local jobs from places where the public sector had bloated to an unsustainable level... and they were cut but Democrats as well as Republican state and local officials... nice try though.... but FAIL.

And BTW, Obama doesn't work with the Republicans... EVER.

"They want to put a moat at the boarder with Alligators": To Latinos.

After suggestions to stop kick-backs to big PHARMA in Obamacare, Obama told Republicans: "I WON."

When Republicans wanted to give input on the Stimulus (THAT FAILED) he said: "They can get in the back seat (while we drive)."

So instead of scouring your thesaurus for words you don't know how to use, why don't you make a truthful argument with facts backed up by REAL numbers.

Perhaps you're unaware of this, but presidents can veto.
    Yes, they really can.
Besides, presidents propose the budgets and have the most influence over them.
For his last 2 budgets, W vetoed Democratic attempts to be reasonable.

My facts come from the BLS, not from some conservative loon who only spews lies and misinformation. Clinton got the unemployment rate down to 4% from where the first Bush had raised it to, so apparently the second Bush decided it should go back up.

    Remember the day...

January 3rd, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the House:

    At the time:

The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77 (Without a Tax Payer FED pump like today)

The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%

    The Unemployment rate was 4.6%

George Bush's Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB CREATION!

Bush's policies were reducing the deficit faster than he had promised:

    2004 412 billion

    2005 318.59 billion

    2006 248.57 billion

    2007 160.96 billion

    Remember the day...

January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee. The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy?
