The unemployment rate ticked down to 7.7 percent in November, but the economy continues to show vulnerability in the face of sweeping tax hikes and spending cuts hitting as early as next month.
The report showed the economy added a modest 146,000 jobs in November. But while the jobless rate fell from 7.9 percent to 7.7 percent, the lowest since December 2008, the dip was in large part due to people giving up the job hunt. The government also said employers added 49,000 fewer jobs in October and September than initially estimated.

right. So guess what happens? These people that are now gonna lose their health care or not get it because of the cutbacks and changes at your company, guess what? The federal government’s gonna magically have a policy for them. Somehow, some way, Obama will be seen as the savior. You have dastardly and mean-spiritedly, extremely cut ‘em off. You’ve reduced their wages. You’ve taken ‘em off the health care plan. You’ve closed down, but management still has theirs, and ownership still has theirs, and government will find a way to come to the rescue for these people. But not immediately. I mean, Obama wants the chaos and the pain. He wants a little bit of this blaming you and your company to go on. And if you don’t believe me on that, ask anybody who worked at AIG what happened.
You’re sitting out there and you’re making the mistake a lot of people make, that facts matter, that truth is undeniable. The fact of the matter is, this is only happening because of Obamacare. This is only happening because of Barack Obama. This is only happening because the Democrat Party has instituted new policies that you can’t possibly afford. But you’re a small business or a big bu...

This is only happening because of Barack Obama. This is only happening because the Democrat Party has instituted new policies that you can’t possibly afford. But you’re a small business or a big business. You can afford anything. You’re rolling in money. It’s all going into your back pocket, into your big house, your second car, whatever. They see the trappings of your wealth or your company CEO’s wealth or whatever. I’ve seen this. We’re in the middle of it happening now. I’m not trying to scare you. I’m trying to prepare you.
I know people are still suffering and it breaks my heart.I truley believe things are getting better.
Friday’s news of declining unemployment numbers was a victory only in writing: despite a drop in jobless claims, the labor force participation rate remains at its lowest in decades.
The percentage of working-age Americans who are either employed or actively in search of a job was reported as 63.6 percent for November 2012, two percentage points lower than the previous month and the worst the country has seen since 1978.
With the release of the monthly jobs numbers from the Labor Department on Friday, the White House has touted the latest figure — an unemployment rate of 7.7 down from October’s 7.9 — as an indicator of their success in a promise to push that statistic down.

IN REALITY. though, fewer residents with an actual interest and ability to work are employed as ever before. The labor force participation rate has now been at or below 66.0 percent since the country entered a recession in late 2007.
While the White House is celebrating the lowest unemployment numbers in the history of the Obama administration, other statistics suggest the scope of the jobs market remains as grim as ever. IN REALITY. though, fewer residents with an actual interest and ability to work are employed as ever before. The labor force participation rate has now been at or below 66.0 percent since the country entered a recession in late 2007.
While the White House is celebrating the lowest unemployment numbers in the history of the Obama administration, other statistics suggest the scope of the jobs market remains as grim as ever. Indeed, the number of Americans without jobs in the eyes of the Labor Department has shrunk two percentage points, but the proportion of Americans who are actively seeking employment as at its lowest in ages.
“According to the government, another 350,000 Americans left the labor force during November, and when you keep pretending that huge chunks of workers ‘disappear’ each month it is easy to get the ‘unemployment rate’ to go down,” wrote economy blogger Michael Snyder, who acknowledges that the number of Americans “not in the labor force” has grown by almost 8.5 million since the Obama administration began.
“But the mainstream media is just eating up this ‘good news.’ They are very excited that the ‘unemployment rate’ has fallen from its peak of 10.0 percent in October 2009 to 7.7 percent now,” says Snyder.
Among opponents of the president’s politics behind jobs figures, the truth behind employment numbers is an example of how the current White House’s policies have not done as promised.
“If the labor force participation rate were the same as when the president took office, the unemployment rate would be 10.7 percent,” Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyoming) said Friday.
When labor statistics were released in November 2011 showing an alleged improvement in the dire jobs market, Steve Eggleston of Hot Air wrote last year that the drop in the civil labor force was “almost unprecedented” for that time of year.
“Since 1982, there have been only seven times the labor force has dropped between an October and a November, and only three times has the drop been even close to this steep,” he wrote almost exactly a year ago. Just twelve months later, though, the labor force participation rate has dropped again, and by even a large proportion since last year.
When republican party was in power under W they were spending like drunkin saliors.2 wars not paid for, medicare part d (doughnut hole that hurt out seniors) not paid for and letting wall street and banks make their own rules list goes on.Its going to take a long time recover from what W did to this Country.
you're a bit mixed up on your history.
yes. Bush spent like a madman. thing is, Obama is spending nearly twice as much as Bush EVER did. Obama has brought us 4 years of annual $1Trillion PLUS deficits. we're on track for another $1.2T deficit this year.
the wars were kited onto the national debt. Bush added $4.4T to the national debt over 8 years. Obama has added $6T in four years.
medicare part D was a democrat initiative that Bush rammed through. just like NCLB, Sarbanes Oxley, both wars and things like timber and tire tariffs.
Sarbanes Oxley? but if you're complaining about the Bust, the pin on that grenade was pulled by Clinton in 1999 by signing the republican authored Gramm Leach Blilley bill. even so, the bust could have been avoided in 2001, but that bill died for a lack of interest, then again in 2004 AND 2005, but those bills were blocked by Chris Dodd (D CT) at the same time as Barney Frank (D MA) was recommending 'rolling the dice' and downplaying any discussion of real estate bubble.
W didn't create this devastation. he was almost peripheral to it. the DNC thanks you for your devotion to their misdirection.
whatever 'story' you believe is deeply mistaken.
if you need to believe that stuff to vote democrat, that's on you. just like Obama's upcoming recession will be on you, too.
Have a wonderful day ;o)
but you don't have the truth.
like John says, you're blinded to reality because you like who you like.
i hope Obama's recession doesn't hurt you too bad.
W's recession hurt everyone.
that's MORE mistaken Obamaspeak.
Have a wonderful evening Beavith ;o)
